Johnny was the man. Still a fun guy when he used to threaten his employees with a gun if they refused to put out, less so when he tried to stab another Frenchman to death in Sihanoukville.springrain wrote:There is so much nonsense about 'Old Cambodia'. I once danced with Mister D. Declan some people refer to him as. Nice guy unless triggered, which he was by certain words or topics. So many 'characters' of the last 15 years or so. But some not mentioned - what about 'Richard', very intelligent man, but held back by lack of a 'degree'? Cass? Nice guy, but with a bad habit of driving at breakneck speed (which he did). And he paid the ultimate price.
Johnny of 'Chez Johnny's' fame was probably the greatest character I've met here. What a character! Like him or otherwise, he always knew my drink. He was, as they say, larger than life.
Good times.
