Rum
Migs
I've clearly got alot to learn about rum.
Mount Gay sponsors(ed) the Sydney to Hobart race so was a staple on all yachts. I never did the race but it stuck in my mind.
I went to Sydney University and lived at a men's college that was infamous for semi formals that were drenched in bundaberg rum and coke. And also vomit.
Anyways...looking forward to moving up the rum tree and finding my signature brand.

Captain Morgan's is absolute shite. Move up the ladder quicker. Flor De Cana is quite nice, try the 12 first, before you try the 18. Also, very interesting history about how the rum was aged while hidden from the Sandinistas during the war in Nicaragua.

I understand fine brandy etc, but can you still appreciate the difference in quality of a rum once you mix it with coke or dilute it with soda?

Like Goslings at the Newport-Bermuda, a 24 hour bar at the yacht club serving Dark 'n Stormies nonstop for four days.ricecakes wrote: Mount Gay sponsors(ed) the Sydney to Hobart race so was a staple on all yachts. I never did the race but it stuck in my mind.

Then you make this post and .... I just want a bottle.
All I would need are some of those triangular round glasses to serve it in. I am going to ask the owner of a bar that has them if I can steal one of his. It isn’t stealing if the other party knows.
I am a label gal. Complete sucker for a sexy looking bottle and great label. When the photo was posted, I salivated. I knew it would taste good.

I'll fully confess that I'm a bit of a sucker for great marketing when it comes to alcohol as well. I think this is the sole basis for Samai's success; it certainly isn't for the rum itself.violet wrote:HI am a label gal. Complete sucker for a sexy looking bottle and great label.
