Hey there,
Has anyone got any experience importing their household contents from Australia (or anywhere else) into Cambodia ?
I've heard so many disaster stories over the years and i don't fancy getting shafted like many folks before me.
I've exported two full containers OUT of PP but never the other way round.
What can i expect from Customs here.?
Many thanks
Memyselfandi.

I can’t offer any specific details , just general encouragement. I had also heard horror stories but it turned out to be fairly straightforward and not that expensive. It did involve a tax contact in Phnom Penh and a fixer in Sihanoukville, plus a helpful import/customs agent.
I arrived in Sihanoukville in the afternoon, pointed out the container, and it was on a truck heading for Phnom Penh the next morning.
I’ll try and find the paperwork to check these costs but it wasn’t a huge amount, including the trucking to Phnom Penh.
Shipping and insurance warehouse Sydney to Sihanoukville warehouse $2,200.
Container terminal charges $190
Customs agent, fixer $300
Container truck to PP $200 (maybe)

Looks like I paid $18.75 customs duty and fees on $2,100 declared value used goods!
Plus you get quite a cool x-ray of the container to check you aren’t importing a car.

Wonderful insight Biker.
I've lived in Cambodia for 14 years so what i'm bringing over is obliviously not tables and chairs mate....crikey.
It's work related things that i can't buy over there and i'm not going to buy new in Thailand.
Good one.

I am also looking for import advice but not necessarily from Australia. Does the companies listed above only import from Australia or will they help anyone?
