No, she authorized him to arrange or broker a sale. There's a big difference.
Imagine if you hire a real estate broker to list your house for sale and then you find out that the broker created documents showing him as the owner of the house, sold it to a buyer, pocketed the money, and ran off and deleted all online contact info.

Unless the landlord was compliant in a dodgy title transfer, and *giggle* some are, then there's nothing stopping her from rocking up to the business tomorrow and legally telling the new "owners" to take a hike.

Different one that is Elly's in TTP (not Ellies) although that is owned by an Aussie guy with his Filipino wife. Shame if it goes not a bad boozer away from the hipsters at Long After Dark.
