Boiled pig meat and peas?
Sounds utterly revolting.
What did you have for dinner?

Never had Pea and Ham soup before?
You must of been brought up in some backwater country.
Eating it now after it had a few days to mature in the fridge and the flavor has spread out..
BEAUTIFUL !!! soup.
And "V",
I just snuck a small tasting of the pickled Octopus.
It's great, give it another 2 weeks and it will be something trip adviser will advise all visitors to Melbourne to try.
I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

I'm about to cook white bait fritters.
Tried cooking this once before, they were just ok but not great.
I know this is more a Kiwi dish than an Oz one.
But Heck, I was once married to a Kiwi so I thought I'd give it another try.

Soon we'll have chicken posting pics of his daily grub and empty beer bottles if the downward trend initiated by scoffer continues

Scoffer mate, whitebait fritters are easy peasy, beat 2/3 eggs, add half a cup of whitebait, Mix. Pan fry in butter.Turn once . Drizzle with lemon.. I wanna know where you got the whitebait? Is it the frozen Indonesian stuff? or the real deal Kiwi bait.scoffer wrote:I'm about to cook white bait fritters.

I'd snuck a few samples of the Octopus earlier on and it was suggesting a good flavor.violet wrote:I recommend no one follows scoffer's octopus recipe until he updates
But today I said enough is enough, no more waiting and loaded up my plate.
I'd have to say this is my best ever attempt at marinated Octopus.
Served on a mixed bed of lettuce with Cold buckwheat noodles, Cherry Tomatoes, Prawns and pickled Octopus.
The vinaigrette marinate was then lavishly dribbled over everything on the plate.
Damm, It was the best !

Two meals on the go at the moment.
1st meal is two racks of pork ribs. ( in the oven as I type )
One rack smeared with Sweat Soy, Normal Soy, Honey , Garlic, plus salt and pepper.
2nd rack smeared with a Chinese BBQ Sauce ( not use this before so will have to wait for a taste test,)
Meal No 2 is a stew made up of:
2 kgs of Chuck steak
1 kg of beef kidney.
Butter Nut pumpkin, Sweet Potato, Green beans, Corn on the cob ( cut into slices ) whole Small Potato's, Cauliflower and a few extras green things that were in my fridge.
Please drop by for a bite to eat, but bring your own beer.
