Indeed, let's hope the chinamen pay out for the swamp and Keith McC doesn't get hold of my email address. But I could kill the little shit and have offered a bounty to put him back there.gavinmac wrote:That's a lot of quail eggs.pedros wrote:that was a waste of 3 grand.

Booo! What happened to your mantra "Not a single riel"?pedros wrote:There was an outbreak of TB in the local prison which spurred the paying of getting druggy nephew out.
How long did he get initially?
6 months... what can I say? I saw the conditions and his uncle in Korea promised to pay it... now the fucker can go back and rot. The gratitude lasted a month, he got a job through another relative for a well known logistics company, robbed the parcels and has now disappeared. Then he got not 1, but 2 (he came back) of the biggest ass whoopings I ever did see from one of his kin. It was painful to watch, yet I was shocked, but cheering inside as local Khmer justice was being served, I'd imagine it was like going to an 18th century public hanging or something.
Never a dull moment.

Back in the days when I was involved with the prison assisting the American murderer $100 a week got you a permanent bed in the Hospital ward. My friend was paying about half that I think to stay in one of the two cells at the Moniving Hospital on 63. The cells only had about a dozen inmates each and you could exercised in the nice shady garden. I have told Ricketson’s mates on twitter to just pay a couple of hundred bucks a month to buy him some comfort.

6 month sentence or you got him out after 6 months? To whom did your 3K go and how'd they "justify" an early release. Obviously we've all heard of this custom but I've always been interested in the nitty gritty of it. Asking for a friendpedros wrote:6 months... what can I say? We've got a shit head cousin / family relative who's been banged up in Prey Sar a few times. He's a proper fuck up. One time he was sending us messages on Facebook messenger from his tablet in jail... Life can be much more comfortable with some cash. Well that was the first time he was in jail. The second time he was in jail, I don't think it was quite as comfortable because you know... he went back to fucking jail and his parents had spent enough first time round. He hasn't been back for a while so maybe being banged up rough worked a bit.

Kids, drugs and Tom Clancy novels don't mix.kolumats wrote:The man got caught spying, he got off easy. Interesting to see whether Australia will now admit that he was an undercover agent. We don't know the extent of his spy work here, all we know for certain is that Ricketson is a convicted spy. He'll probably be returned to the Australian secret service after things quiet down.

YANGON (Reuters) - A Myanmar judge on Monday found two Reuters journalists guilty of breaching a law on state secrets and jailed them for seven years, in a landmark case seen as a test of progress toward democracy in the Southeast Asian country.

“James has decided to submit for a royal pardon, which is essentially just a request for clemency, for mercy, to the King Norodom Sihamoni,” Mr Ricketson’s son, Jesse told the ABC’s 7.30.

I, for one, cannot wait for his prison memoir blog to be frantically hashed out once he gets back to Boganville.
