Hey all, i'm new here and its great to be here. I met a girl in my area whose parents are from Cambodia but she was born here. We have hang out a couple of times but my mom is excited that i met someone. I'm a Christian and she is a Buddhist. She seems very traditional, reserved, soft spoken, she is in college, and well mannered. I've done some research on Cambodian dating and it's kind of similar to dating a Chinese woman which i've done it in the past.
My question is, does women who Buddhist usually converts to the husbands religion or do they remain being Buddhists.
Question about religion and marriage

What terribly antiquated thinking!
Why should any person, male or female, change their religion on marriage?
Especially so if you love and respect that person for what she/he is - a human being you wish to spend the rest of your life with.
My wife is an active Buddhist and I am nominally Christian (lapsed - non practising) and we both go our own ways when it comes to religion and have done so for 32 years now and no problems at all. Our daughter, now 30, is free to follow her own path in life without either of us imposing a "Brand name" on her.
It's a multicultural world these days and intermarriage is commonplace.

Looks to me Islamic (or very old-fashioned Christian) practices.........grod wrote:......

Not something that is going to make either party happy, I think.

Your main issue is that you believe you have an imaginary friend in the sky and it will judge your marriage.
Religion should never be intertwined with anything basically.

It's never too late to be nice, unless you die.

I think he's worried that his mom won't approve of the marriage if the girl doesn't convert to Christianity.flanostu wrote:Your main issue is that you believe you have an imaginary friend in the sky and it will judge your marriage.
