Siem Reap building collapse.
Just heard the construction site of the old Soup Kitchen Pub st collapsed last night killing 1 and injuring 5 workers sleeping there from a local friend. Walked past an hour ago and the building was flat to the ground, it still had the safety netting around the site and people gathered around looking in. Don't know exactly what happened or casualties, onlookers didn't know much either.
Never mind.

Yes, part of Pub Street was closed off this afternoon, while 'competent authorities' walked around and did little (much like the stars of a David Lynch film, such as Eraserhead')
I was told part of the building collapsed at 1.AM. Killing two and injuring others.

Experts to inspect Siem Reap buildings
Loss of life and the (powerful) building owner paid $3500, and the family calls it generous and is ok with it. In another thread from this week and Indonesian hit a moto where a work injured their ankle, and they demanded he pay $8000. Not quite equal demands here...“Unfortunately, my son was injured badly and could not be saved. The building owner is generous and responsible by paying $3,500 to us for the funeral expenses,” she said.
The rich never compensate dead building workers. Same in Australia.
It is quite generous seeing the building owner was not at fault here.Miguelito wrote:Experts to inspect Siem Reap buildings

How much did the contractor pay the family of his worker?
