Gf just surprise purchased one.
Already tyres have holes in them. Nobody stocks them so put SYM Aprila 10" ones on. 14 quid each.
Wouldn't start, new pre-heater carb thing? 14 quid an hour for labour alone at Piaggio stores. Normal places don't stock Piaggio parts, especially 2009 models.
Is it worth doing this thing up as they have a rep as money pits.?
only cost 200 quid though.
I was getting hot under the collar when i heard 150cc, but then a quick analysis of the wheel size vs. potholes plus it sounds like a shit hairdryer plus the exhaust is blowing hot smoke right up my trouser leg to my sweaty chouder....etc
any1 got one? any advice?

People are buying 2009 models and doing them up?
I have no idea about the model reference but when I purchased a 1970s vespa in 2000 it cost 150$ and was both a nightmare to start , to maintain and run, but actually good fun to drive. I sold it around 2010 when the laws were being changed about licenses and helmets and such like. Switchec to bicycles , one of my best ever moves. Anyway, price seems like a good deal if it is that young.

k440, something to do when you're pissed.
Many Vespa shops in Vietnam and they will send parts via bus which is darn cheap and quick

I have a Piaggio 300cc, I have purchased parts from here in the UK - fast delivery & cost effective - https://www.ajsutton.co.uk/
I have also used other sellers in EU, PM me if you want more detail
For service I can recommend Elite Motosport at #18 St 95 - they are knowledgeable, competent & cost effective

I think all Vespas are made in China now.

I GOT SPARK PLUG ANd and air filter done at official garage - not done preoperly. caused more prolems than it solved. he didnt enev put the foam filter in right or attach the HT caps correctly so broke down half way thru a ong journey
about 450k VND
gf spent 500k on the CDI ignition but its still crap, takes 3-5 minutes to start. ( as always freewheel, brake, rock the bike helps, but not much before starting)
official garage didnt even have the odometer cabal etc - though i was insane even to ask.
no throttle sticks when opened up fully, so maybe HT cables again, throttle cable. i dunno. still gets up to a good speed just gotta be very gradual tho, traffic light burn-outs/ full throttle = u just kinda kkangaroo.
rear tyre slow puncture and ghard to find 120/70 on 10" here or even in Nha Trang. SYM atilla 80/100 on the front.
any advice on the throttle? bit of a shocker when u go to overtake and it goes flat instead....
like i said, maybe they deserve their reps as money pits]

I'm confused here when you started mentioning 2009 models. Are you referring to the Vietnamese 150 GTS model rather than the 150 GS? The GTS is very new so I wouldn't think you meant that. The Vespa 150 GS is an old bike and was produced from 1955 until 1961, however they are collectors items. I actually had a Vespa 150 Sportique back in the '60's I think that followed the GS and was produced from 1961. I should have kept it as a 1965 model is going for £3995 https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C719864AnassRamaIV wrote:Gf just surprise purchased one.

And a 1965 Vespa SPRINT For Sale ( Learner Friendly125CC)Price 1: £4,450 http://www.classicscootersuk.co.uk/clas ... /index.php
[/b]
The Vespa 150 GS evidently can fetch up to $8000 if in excellent condition.
Heres a bit of info:
Number Produced:126,349
Years Produced:1955-1961
Power Output:8 h.p.
Prices for GS 150 by condition
Rough but restorable = $800-1500
Drivable, but not show = $2500-3500
Restored or Excellent Original Condition = $4000-8000
Note: The guide above is for VS4-5. Pre-VS4 G.S.'s are very rare, and command a price premium.

Also a warning guys. I've always beleived that tubeless tyres couldn't be punctured, but my friend on a newer Vespa ( admittedly white threards were beginning to show - i had warned him).
he had full blow out, lost control entirely with wife nd boy on board. luckily he drives slow, but be careful out there, warn ur friends and dont beleive the crap about tubeless tyres.

Its the worn tyre that was the problem not that the tyre was tubeless!AnassRamaIV wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 6:32 pmAlso a warning guys. Blowouts are generally caused by badly worn tyres which can end up killing you. Driving on a tyre where the white cords are showing is suicidal! "If you see white cords showing through the worn area, your tires need to be replaced immediately."
Always make sure there is plenty of thread and replace regularly. Tyres have a shelf life of about 5 years which is stamped on the tyre. Check this date: Look for the date code in an oval stamp on your tire’s sidewall. The numbers represent the week and year of manufacture. Eg .1218. means the tyre was minted in the 12th week of 2018.
Re punctured tubeless tyres.
If you get a nail, thorn or whatever in the tyre it will puncture just the same. However the punctures are very easy to fix, you just remove the nail and plug the hole. There are tubeless tyre repair kits available.

Just got a 2020 GTS 300 SuperSport. This thing is very fun.
Given the above prices, I think this should hold its value of the next ten years, not that I would want to sell. Hopefully I'll have it a very long time and some great adventures on it as well.
