Where to eat curry
Where to eat curry
Where’s the best place to get Cambodian curry? Not amok, but a good Cambodian red curry or something.
Top end:
Kravanh on Sothearos blvd probably for the most authentic; frequented by HE's family on occasion. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Krava ... 104.933304
Personally I prefer Malis on Norodom blvd, sitting outside as it just has more atmosphere even if the food is perhaps not quite as good as Kravanh. Indoors is unbearable, terrible acoustics unless you take a private room out the back.

Bottom end
My mother in law's house, she rustles up some mean stuff. Invitation only sorry.

Best place is my house, unfortunately Granny only makes it twice a year - P'Chum Benn and KNY. However, I do not share.

Sony Side Up (Owner's name is Sony, not a typical Asian typo) Has the best curry I've had in Cambodia. It's a chef driven restaurant with top quality ingredients. Curry is less than $5, huge portion and delicious, you won't be disappointed. Also, 75 cent draft Cambodia beer. It's on 172.

Yea, I've had a pretty decent curry there too. Good reminder, I had almost forgotten about that place.electrolime wrote:Sony Side Up (Owner's name is Sony, not a typical Asian typo) Has the best curry I've had in Cambodia. I used to like the Khmer red curry at The Empire... before it became a hostess bar.

Manchester, Bradford, Birmingham, London etc. Do yourself a favour and forget Cambodian curry.
If you want a proper curry, go to the UK.

Namaste does an excellent chicken tandoori, lamb curry. And they are one of the few restaurants who understand that coffee, like tea, should be served HOT. Not lukewarm.

@jitters. Khmer food is very rarely spicy, but you can always add some extra chilli that should be on the table of any half decent establishment

True, but don't you think the thread title ' Where to eat curry' will attract all curry lovers?ReasonstobefearfulP3 wrote:they asked for Cambodian curry, not Indian. Although they did also say the spicier the better.
Perhaps change the title?

Anyone else notice that the portions at Sheri Punjab getting a bit smaller lately? I wish they would increase the price rather than reduce the portions. I fear change, but it might be time to try one of these other places.
