Reasons that we love Phnom Penh
Despite the invasion of ManBuns and Digital KnobRags and Pop-Up Designer Cocktail Bars and Whiney Vegan Protein Junkies - along with all the other newfangled liberal Expat 2.0 RantyBollocks nonsense - despite all that, there are still a few reasons that we unwanted, jaded and cynical, old dinosaurs are still Expats here.

Phnom Penh. You’ll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautions.
My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.
Good to see you are still ballin' at the classy joints LPB !

Anyone promoting the seediness of Cambodia today is at least 15 years too late. What remains is a mere wisp of a shadow of what once was.

Pardon my engrish, thanks you.
There was a good Italian restaurant with a wood fired pizza oven that I used to frequent about 20 or so years ago. I cannot remember the name. It was very close to Wat Phnom. Had good pizzas and great wine, but unfortunately it had to close around 2006 along with other "non cultural" establishments.
Reported in PPP April 2006
Bar and restaurant owners on the north side of Wat Phnom are up in arms about the Municipality's decision to order them to close within one year "in order to keep safety, order and beauty of Wat Phnom," according to the March 23 announcement signed by Chhay Tirith, Chief of Srah Chork Commune.
Anyone remember it?
