Haha, I've got plenty of Lada stories to tell you, from my days back in the northern hemisphere.
I've been driving those things through wintery landscapes, from the tender age of 14.
The 1.5l station wagon was pretty fast for its day, I recall.
edit. yeah here it is, the 1.5l 'Estate'
And we gave it some serious abuse too.

I can't reproduce any of this. The frontpage looks fine and redirects properly on all of my devices and browsers.OrangeDragon wrote: ↑Thu Feb 28, 2019 11:03 pmYou're still not back... forums work, but homepage is hosed up bad.
Main url gives a Forbidden error and doesn't redirect to /k
Edit: Finally found a computer/browser/ISP combo where I could indeed reproduce the redirection failure. Should be fixed now. Let me know if it is not, please.
I take no humour in that. K440 had major open heart surgery, was in a coma for 58 hours and people were upset waking up to find they looked different...Playboy sneaked in to the operating theatre and preformed some facial reconstruction surgery...look at me now!
I look like a goat!

Did the back seats recline in the Lada for sleep and shaggin' purposes?

It belonged to a friends mom, a true commie. We would rip it when she was off to the party conference.
It was my trainer, sort of. But I never was as good a driver as my friend.
He would later become a certified Mercedes tech, eventually with a suit, corner office and all that..

It’s still there (working on both desktop and mobile) - just need to be logged in.bipolar bear wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 3:37 amAlso, I assume there is no jumping to the first unread post in a thread as part of this upgrade? It's a very useful function on fora that have it.
People don’t tend to pay cash for cars from manufacturers or big franchise dealers mainly because they refuse, money laundering regs etc.Jep wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 9:07 amYes, i understand that. Did you pay cash?
It was a company car. Tax wise and economically it made sense due to the high mileages I did. Three unlimited warranties are quite helpful.
New Mercedes, and any other premium brand for that matter, are easily affordable now thanks to cheap loans and those PCP deals - where you own the car and pay a hefty fee after three years or hand it back and start again with a new car.
I paid 50% and the rest on HP at a silly 3%. No balloon.
In fact the salesman don’t like you paying “cash” (bank draft) as they don’t make any money but do on finance.
pew, pew, pew, pew!
