I believe they have two types - donor funded and school funded - and it’s because of the sheer number of school funded scholarships that they’re cash dry.

Re: PUC fails to pay
I heard from a Cambodian teacher that they have only been paid 40% of March's wages, and none of April (nor a KNY bonus).
They will informed tomorrow about an update, and if not paid the teacher will collectively respond, perhaps by stopping to work.

Re: PUC fails to pay
Personally I’m more concerned about the local teachers that make 1/5 of the foreigners and with a good job such as teaching often support other family members.
Last I heard was no (see my post above), but I haven’t checked this week.

Re: PUC fails to pay
Many moons ago I worked for a company in the top end of Australia, they where a gold mine and informed us that the company had basically run out of money to pay wages, i was only a young bloke with no family to support and it was not so bad as we did get free accommodation and food, we where told a month before so also guys could plan to either leave or stay, as it turned out the guys that stayed where given shares and a promise that the wages would be paid in a few months, of course it was a gamble, but being in the middle of nowhere in the wet season with the roads impassable most of us decided to stay, the good part of the story is we where given shares worth at the time about 2 cents each, I think we where given about 5000 shares a week each until we got our back pay, 3 months later all our pay was paid in full and the share price had increased to 55 cents a share when I sold them, the bad part of the story was I sold them too early and left to work in another mine, the shares went to over $4 a share and a few mates got quite a bonus.
If PUC cant pay at the moment maybe they should consider a 10% loyalty payment to people that stay?

Re: PUC fails to pay
Last I heard was that they have been paid for March, and have been promised to be paid for April on May on Wednesday, although the teachers doubt that.

^^ I notice that they're not requiring ANY kind of police clearance, background check or even references to work with kindergarten aged kids.

Re: PUC fails to pay
Another term, another missed payday for everyone. First full pay check of the term and payroll, accounting and the family are unreachable. No memos sent out this time either, as they were contacted by the Phnom Penh post about the last memo and don't want to have to answer questions about it. No word on when pay is coming, but quite a few teachers have jumped ship, foreign and Khmer. This is after reassurrences all month that everything is fine and Friday evening (payday), a memo was sent out that pay would follow this week, I have it on good authority that that is not happening.

Re: PUC fails to pay
Tried posting earlier to no avail. Another term, another missed payday. On Friday, all staff were to be paid for the first full month of the term, Friday evening they all received an email stating that payment would be received sometime the following week. No official memo sent out as apparently a prominent newspaper in Cambodia contacted them about the missed payments, so they don't want anything official to show up on Facebook. Admin are as far in the dark as the teachers, cleaners and parking staff; as payroll, accounting, and the entire Kol family are apparently not answering the telephone. Since the beginning of the term there has been a massive loss of both foreign and Khmer teachers, general moral is also about as well as you can imagine. Coupled with a low enrollment rate, the closing of their South campus, forced campus enrollments, and the loss of some very long term teachers, PUC definitely does not need to wear shades, the future is not bright. I have it on good authority that no one will be paid until next week, and even then, only part pay.

Sounds like a good place to avoid working at
