Yep, Jep, I'm always in two minds.

Indian batsmen are poetry in motion and glad I decided to watch the first half of the game when they won the toss and elected to bat.
A win by only 26 runs so a lot closer than I thought it would be. Some games are won on the toss and this would perhaps be one of those.
SA v WI today. My money would be on the Windies but SA in need of a win.

I'm interested as to what Adam Zampa was doing with the ball during his bowling spell.
Suspicious as hell, , will be interesting to know.

Yes, well that reminds me; what a great crowd the Indian fans made

Do you mean when the Indian captain motioned to them to stop the booing, and they obeyed?
No, you're post made me think of the fans generally; their excitement, enthusiasm and colour was entertaining.

I'd love to try to feel some sympathy for South Africa. They, when in a real time of need, have been thwarted by the weather, when just 1 point for a rain-affected game won't suffice.
But I remember the vitriolic comments from some S.Africa fans when England exited the last two World Cups. Okay, you expect some mickey-taking from the Aussies & Kiwis - that is part and parcel of the rivalry between these teams and nations. Generally, it is good-humoured and a bit of banter.
But there were some insidious and downright nasty comments from S. Africa 'fans' in those dark days of England's ODI demise. They seemed to revel and gloat in the pathetic displays of England, so one is disposed to do the same to S. Africa now.
But there is an inherent decency in humans that doesn't wish to gloat. One doesn't wish to 'kick a man when he is down' so I hope SA recover some of their attacking prowess and give-it-what-you've-got attitude.
Our lovely game needs it. We need South Africa, the West Indies and Sri Lanka to be strong. And for the rain gods to relent - come on, guys!

And maybe a couple of hundred other somewhat dodgy incidents, LOL.
The Brits have an amazing selective blindness. Yeah, we invaded you, stole your resources, raped your women, enslaved your children and forced you to adopt our religion, customs, breakfast and language.
But is that any reason to be slightly off?

But it is you who shows 'selective blindness' because you chose to attack half of my post, while ignoring the part that hoped SA came back. I also agree that the 'Great' British Empire did terrible things and I have often said so on this forum.vladimir wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 5:49 pmThe Boer War, old chap.springrain wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 7:46 pmBut there were some insidious and downright nasty comments from S. And you think the Boers weren't invaders of South Africa. LOL!
Anyway, tonight's game a corker, potentially. I don't reckon Australia have got enough at this stage (277-5 off 42.3). But you just don't know what you're going to get with Pakistan - and that's why I love 'em!

From a Kiwi's point of view, may it rain all day long! Toss delayed, wet outfield. If cancelled, each team picks up a point.
India punished NZ over the southern summer and likely to do so again today.

I did a few sundry calculations yesterday, playing around with 'ifs' & 'buts'. Looks like NZ are well-placed here, having played - and beaten - the so-called weaker teams. Then they are up against one of the strong favourites - India - and might yet get away with a point in a game they probably wouldn't have fancied themselves to win.
It's looking very good for the Kiwis at this stage if the Trent Bridge encounter is rained off; even if it is reduced to a 20-over-lottery, it would still give them a great chance of an upset.
If that were to happen, only the Kiwis & India would be unbeaten at this stage.
