Olympia Mall “soft opening”
Olympia Mall opened back on June 23rd. It’s a “soft opening”, as only about 1/3 of the eventual mall is open - it will Open in full in 2021.
There’s a large atrium area, with a massive escalator that goes up five (tall) stories. Most people riding it where videoing on their phones the whole time. Personally, I would rather have escalators to each floor, but that’s just me.
One good addition is that they have an actual food court on the 5th floor.

Guess I'm stating the obvious when I say the opulence of this and all the other grandiose developments, is actually for the Chinese investor?

Don't know about the mall but even locals seem to be referring to the apartment complex as Olimxia.
I've got an idea, why don't we put ball sports right next to where people are eating ...

It looks absolutely fabulous, and I can't wait to spend loads of my hard-earned-cash there.

I always wondered what would happen if a fir broke out in a place like this. I think Soriya would be the worst, or perhaps Sovanna and the one in Steung Meanchey, total death traps. This one is a bit more open but I bet one would find locked safety doors and fire escapes and it goes without saying that no one has had emergency training. Let's hope we never get to find out.

Why would you think no one has had emergency training? Because at least Sorya and Aeon malls have weekly/monthly trainings.vladimir wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 1:46 amI always wondered what would happen if a fir broke out in a place like this. If I remember right there was even a thread here with photos where the poster thought there had been fight or something when in reality it was just a training for assault situation or something.
Here is photos of Aeon's fire training when they opened:

It’s a peculiar design, with the elevators front and center. Normally in a mall one uses escalators, and the elevators are for the handicapped, baby strollers, and completely and utterly lazy people that suck at life. In this mall, I have no idea how to get to floors 1-4 without the elevator.

I just went and saw another set of escalators that goes between each floor. The AC was strong, parking seemed fairly easy for the moto, but in all I agree that the design is a bit odd. All about that escalator that goes on forever. But the location is good for me, so another watering hole to bring the kids to gawk at the locals while eating ice cream, I guess. The staff at the Lucky market seemed fresh off the boat, and on the slower side.
I was just stating the obvious Kina bro. dont hang me.
