Not sure I'd call him mentally ill, more just a loser for which Cambodia isn't good.
What's puzzling is how these types of people even get the wherewithal to plan an overseas trip in the first place, let alone obtain the funds. Sometimes makes me wonder whether they weren't at the bottom of the food chain in their home countries, more that Cambodia did them in.

That’s easy to explain. They will likely have a bit of cash in their 50s from the house they’ve had to sell for their divorce. Or they have 20k from a redundancy. Or a small pension pot.
So they come on holiday and fall into the ‘I’m a king in cambodia’ mentality. The money quickly goes. They have few ties back home. When they reach rock bottom like Pieman there is simply no way back.

Cambodia is the sovereign epitome of the contemporary anti-marijuana trope, namely:-
1. It may not cause you to go insane; however
2. If you have underlying mental problems, it will most definitely bring these to the surface and you will most definitely go insane.

Haha - my money’s on Playboy
I like AiA. But I don't see why he should have become upset about that. Should have just laughed and shrugged it off.

It’s a question that nobody anywhere in the world has pondered and I’m pretty sure Shane also didn’t.
He’s a little preoccupied what with the possibility of him being incarcerated for 100 years an all that.
Good disguise though that mask. Could hardly recognise him.

Either the pieman knew
about it before, or he was just on the street
when it was all happening and
repeated what the neighbour's were
saying. Trying to make out he's in the know with his finger on the pulse.
^ this,,,where can I find the like button. ? it belongs in the

I see what you mean, but not everyone would find it amusing to be accused of being the forum's biggest snark, no matter how funny he may be.
In any event, I think AiA's issue was more that none of his mates jumped in and tried to exonerate him. I guess he didn't realise that noone could exonerate him because noone knew who Gibbon was, and therefore couldn't be sure it wasn't him!
