Yes. I'm quite positive about some of the beers now available here, I particularly like Stone Head. But you are paying $5 - $6 for a 'pint'. That's £4.05 - £4.85 a pint. Those south of England prices, and not far off London prices. £3.50 was about average for pint of decent IPA when I was back. Cheapest I saw was Greene King IPA for £1.89 in Weatherspoons.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 9:07 amI have absolutely no idea why quality is so low but prices so high in China and SE Asia. Do you? It's like standard economic theory suddenly stops at their borders.slavedog wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 4:37 amI'm currently summering in England. Food and booze - at least in the supermarket - is close to half the price as Cambodia, and the quality so much better. I've hardly seen any poor people (thanks be to the Lord) . I saw a 'homeless' person in Cambridge last week, but he had a beer belly not unlike my own, and was dressed like he'd just walked out of one of those North Face outfitters. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that the worst beer here is better than the best in Cambodia.
Conclusion: its only cheap here if you are happy to consume low quality.
