What does it mean to be the fittest/strongest when we speak of survival?
Here's the problem with the original premise, as I see it. It's a problem that is repeated over and over again by conspiracy therorists, both here and all over the internet.
There is this supposition that we are not in control of our lives, and that we are controlled by a shadowy yet never defined elite. It's paranoid nonsense. When you ask people to define who these shadowy elites are - when you ask them to get more specific - they start to wriggle. Springrain will waffle about 'them' and 'the NWO', and will occasionally name names like Rothschilds. Violet here is even less specific: it's governments and billionnaires, an odd alliance, but hey - what do I know? People talk about 'the powers that be', as if it's some force for evil, designed to keep you down.
Here's the rub. It isn't. Governments and billionnaires don't give a fuck about you and your lives, and the sooner people realise that and take responsibility for their actions - successes and fuckups - the better. The only thing oppressing you if your life is shit, is yourself. It's your fault; not some shadowy elite. Don't hide behind the notion of being powerless when forced to deal with the machinations of bankers, or the global elite, or the jews, or the military industrial complex. If you've failed in life the reason is simple: you're either a failure or you've made bad choices, or you haven't worked hard enough, or you're not clever enough, or you're just either plain unlucky or you're a nutjob.
Grow a fucking pair and take control of your life.
And stop blaming it on other people. Noone gives a shit about our lives, certainly not enough to be sitting in darkened rooms trying to find ways to keep control on us; we are really not that fascinating or interesting.
Finally, what is this doing in Cambodia Speakeasy, or is it now ok to post random bollocks in any part of the forum? If so, I'm off to promote a Phnom Penh restaurant in Not Cambodia, praise French wines in Money and Insurance, and advertise a BKK1 apartment the Tefler part of the site. Because, it seems, anything goes because Miggles has a job, goes to bars, and exercises, and noone else has ever done that.

Dallows, that is unfair.
I know you are a bit peeved right now & who wouldn't be after you've just been told to Foff?
I won't take it any further because things are getting a bit heated.
I do have a life; I read, study & try to think things out.
Anyway, mate, we all get wound up.
And I certainly don't think we are powerless. It is just the opposite.
I think it's just a leetle bit unfair, just a tad, to label people you don't know as failures.
I'm sure you didn't really mean that. Sorry if that sounds a bit patronising. It isn't meant to be - just a defence mechanism.

I have asked you on countless occasions to be more precise about who you mean when you refer to those in control, 'them', the powers that be etc.
You have NEVER once addressed it properly and engaged in a meaningful discussion about it. Instead, you vaguely refer to reading and studying (as you do here, implying that only those in the know know the truth and that others don't 'read, study and try to thnk things out'), suggest that you will give it some thought and come post in more detail (and never do), or generally just obscurify in a charmingly befuddled, yet ultimately meaningless way.
Getting you to be specific is like trying to nail jelly to a wall. Understandable from some others on here who post like that, but you're an intelligent man and, candidly, hiding behind such obscurification is intellectually shallow.
Propositions are strengthened by being aired and refuted, not suppressed.

Hold it, you are making an inference: 'implying that only those in the know know the truth and that others don't 'read, study and try to think things out'.
I never said, nor implied, anything of the sort.
You accused me of being a failure & I responded by saying that I 'read, study & try to figure things out.'
I don't like lying - that is exactly what I do (try to figure out, not lie.)
I have also said, on numerous occasions, that I accept that I could be wrong.
But I will keep looking.

Once again, for the umpteenth time, no attempt at all to explain who exactly you mean by 'them' or who those in control actually are.
Instead, as I said above, a charmingly befuddled deflection.
I never accused you of being a failure. I was making the point that it is too easy for people to blame their disappointments or frustrations on 'never to be defined' mysterious forces and circumstances. Not only is that a cop-out and an abnegation of individual responsibility, but unless you can articulate who those forces are in a way that can be pinned down, probed and proven, it's also morally and intellectually bankrupt.

I'm afraid you did imply (a word you like) that violet & I were failures.
Ah, your third paragraph makes an excellent point.
It is precisely because these forces are so difficult to pin down that I take my time.
I want to cross-check every reference, every source, every claim, every hint and every suggestion.
One of your heroes, whom I admire myself - I believe his Academic work spanned some 32 years, though he never gave up trying to exercise his mind - Mr Karl Popper, for those who might be reading this and not knowing what we are talking about, would have carried on and taken his time to precisely formulate his ideas.
(Deep breath)
There is also the risk of being drawn into racial debates and their like, which I have no desire to do. They are futile and an added distraction. Humanity is humanity & I dislike categorisations according to religious creed, political stance or colour of skin.
I understand your frustration, but I want to be so sure of my facts that it is irrefutable; that takes time.
Lastly, there is the forum to consider.
What if I said something that brought the forum into disrepute?
Should I not think & act very carefully before I spout something that might attract negative views about this splendid forum?
I've done for tonight, mate.

Perhaps you have not implied it intentionally but I have made the same inference from your posts.springrain wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 6:38 pmHold it, you are making an inference: 'implying that only those in the know know the truth and that others don't 'read, study and try to think things out'.

Ok, then if more than one poster says it, I have a greater chance of being guilty of that. Accepted. I'll try to avoid that from now on.slavedog wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 7:12 pmPerhaps you have not implied it intentionally but I have made the same inference from your posts.springrain wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 6:38 pmHold it, you are making an inference: 'implying that only those in the know know the truth and that others don't 'read, study and try to think things out'.

Yes, I would dismiss it in the same way. I don't think I particularly display a lot of respect to any posters on here, although there are people who post on here whom I like and respect, yourself included.
I just think that it is not healthy to get into one's thirties and certainly forties and still be thinking about these kind of abstract propositions so much that it causes one mental anguish. Such matters are best left to first year philosophy students to debate after a drunken night out.
Rather than posting on here looking for answers that don't exist, I would suggest reading some philosophy. Stoicism would be the obvious place to start.
Or some books on mindfulness, which draws from various wisdoms such as Buddhism. I'm not especially in to it myself, but people seem to be using it more and more as an antidote to the stresses of life in the modern world.

Dallow, do you remember, right at the beginning of my posting history, when I sent you a PM asking whether it would be OK for me to post a short video about Prince Harry, the Nazi/Rabbinical connections & so on?
I would only have gone ahead with that with your approval, which you gave.
That is indicative of the respect I have/had/continue to have for the owners/moderators/contributors to this forum.

Hmmmm. The Rothschilds in collusion with Big Tech and the remaining Koch brother may be blocking his pertinent replies for containing too much truth.Dallow Spicer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 6:29 pmI have asked you on countless occasions to be more precise about who you mean when you refer to those in control, 'them', the powers that be etc.

Big Mc, would you like to see the email I got purporting to be from THE ILLUMINATI (for that is how it appeared in my inbox)? I am happy to post it up if anyone wants to see it!
My first thought was that it was from Nigerian scammers, the next that it was from the Area 51 nutjobs and, finally, I thought it was from you.
I have replied to their invitation to join and I was informed to disguise myself as ...McPhisto. I said, "No, I want to be Eduardo,' but they put a stop to that absurd idea.
