Argue in circles about British politics thread
Given countries like Israel and Australia compete in it, yes we will still be in it.
One of the girls from Bucks Fizz is on the list ofBrexit Party candidates for the next General Election.

The pound is back to a 5 month low. Watch it bounce back when people vote remain. Watch a tepid performance in any other likely scenario.
Up the workers!
That’d be classed as sexual assault now.
I had a velvet top like that.
pew, pew, pew, pew!
I don’t think another referendum will happen. Boris’ deal is still on the table just a matter of when.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 1:40 pmThe pound is back to a 5 month low. Watch it bounce back when people vote remain. Watch a tepid performance in any other likely scenario.

I'm not actually sure, strictly speaking, that that is a weed as I think I've seen Cambodians eating it.

The two things are not necessarily mutually exclusivekungfufighter wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 3:57 pmI'm not actually sure, strictly speaking, that that is a weed as I'm pretty sure I've seen Cambodians eating it.

The pound is NOT at a five month low. It has risen 5-6% in the last week alone and is trading either at or close to $1.30 for the first time for many months.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 1:40 pmThe pound is back to a 5 month low. I can't see Brexit affecting much ,over the long term at least. Trade deals abound >> revival of British ship building industry.
Most stuff you buy in Ireland is made in the UK. Ireland fishermen catch around 40% of their/our fish in British waters.
The hospitality sector in the UK would literally colapse without EU workers. The British Facebook generation just dont want to work that hard anymore.
Business as normal if you are British i reckon. Do worry about the Euro though. Maybe i should be putting all my Euros into Pounds?

You've made numerous contradictory statements in this short post.spitthedog wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 6:58 pmI can't see Brexit affecting much ,over the long term at least. Trade deals abound >> revival of British ship building industry.

Trade deals abound? Where. To date, the UK has signed around a dozen 'continuity deals' with those countries trading with us currently on EU terms. Those deals involve around 40 countries. SOunds impressive doesn't it, until you realise they represent about 8% of our global trade and feature such major trading partners as the Faroe Islands, Israel, Lebanon, Lesotho and the Andean countries.
Even if trade deals abound, they won't lead to a revival of British ship building. Why would they? British shipbuilding died because it was too expnesive globally; Brexit doesn't change that.
Most of the stuff you buy in Ireland is made in the UK. That is because it is tariff free currently. That won't be the case after Brexit and until and deal is signed around future trading relationships, likely to take at least 5-10 years.
You say Business as Normal, immediately after saying the hospitality industry will collapse without EU workers. How are those two statements compatible? Just today it is reported that millions of apples are being left to rot because there are too few EU workers here to pick them.

And it has since recovered that loss and got stronger during the day to be just under $1.30 as we speak.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 9:09 pmOops.
