It amuses me the way marijuana is still seen as ‘harmless’ and ‘just a herb’ when it is actually an addictive narcotic that can cause a plethora of mental health problems including schizophrenia. Don’t get the attraction of the stuff myself although I am not anti (or pro)drugs and I believe all narcotics should be tentatively decriminalized and, if this works, ultimately legalized with very strict controls on who and where substances can be consumed as prohibition has clearly spectacularly failed and the drug industry is one of the biggest industries in the world despite being illegal and having no branding or marketing.
The money to be made, and taxed, could transform the economy of some countries for the better along with saving hundreds of thousands of people from wasting away in prison serving time for dealing or drug use and the crimes associated with addiction.

There is probably more money to be made for the rich keeping it all illegal. I've met a few millionaire potheads who didn't seem to have any problems, maybe they got lucky with their business, who knows?. But if you are from a poor background, it seems to be regarded a bigger issue for society. I agree on meth being a terrible drug, as it actually eats the brain up, unlike weed which has natural receptors responding to its use. The rich enjoy their share of coke, which they can afford to buy straight from SA without being mixed up with meth. But that is costly. The heroin here is better, but we know what that can do to people long term as well. Also alcohol and fish and chips served with a proper tartar sauce can be terribly addictive, in my view.
Seahorse ! that is not correct. The Seawolf wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 12:05 pmIt amuses me the way marijuana is still seen as ‘harmless’ and ‘just a herb’ when it is actually an addictive narcotic

Are you saying marijuana is non addictive and harmless then?
Yes. its not addictive. It is harmful in a way people get lazy and smoke the herb all day long. The Seawolf wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 1:21 pmJep wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 1:01 pmSeahorse ! that is not correct. The Seawolf wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 12:05 pmIt amuses me the way marijuana is still seen as ‘harmless’ and ‘just a herb’ when it is actually an addictive narcotic

Well I beg to differ. I know several people who have smoked weed everyday to the detriment of their physical and mental health and I also know several people who spent time in mental hospitals as a result of marijuana use. It is without doubt addictive
Seahorse man. Weed is NOT addictive. ask Uncle Google. also from my own experience , as a tobacco smoker as well as a weed smoker.,,,,,the urge for a ciggie tobacco hit is far far greater than a puff on a reefer. manThe Seawolf wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 1:39 pmWell I beg to differ. The people ending up in a mental institution because of weed must have other issues as well. Perhaps an upbringing with abusive alcoholic parents, social neglect and lo financial status. The whole issue of mental illness is entirely subjective to begin with, I've seen so called regular people go totally haywire at various Christmas parties, from going beyond their limits with alcohol and an accidental joint, only to return the next day with their usual greyed out personality.
You cant be serious!newnewnewbie wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 2:00 pmThe people ending up in a mental institution because of weed must have other issues as well.

Weed is less addictive than tobacco. That’s why if you skin up using tobacco and weed you will crave tobacco more than weed.
This doesn’t mean weed isn’t habit forming which is why people end up in rehab for marijuana use and most weed smokers do it every single damn day.
It’s also physically harmful. My uncle, for example, blazed nothing but sensi for 30 years maan and he now has emphacema (spelling?) and cant walk up a flight of stairs without having to take a break.
Okay weed is less addictive and less harmful than, say, meth. Doesn’t mean it can’t fuck you up.
All things in moderation you say - true, but this could apply to any illegal drug which Is why they should all be decriminalized.

Perhaps an upbringing with abusive alcoholic parents, social neglect and lo financial status is the real culprit behind their supposed mental disorder from smoking weed.
