Dental implants Saigon
Getting the all on 4 on my upper jaw(fixed) and a removeable one on 2 implants on my lower jaw. A life long issue for me that has finally come to a head this year. This work done in the states(I have all the estimates from my US dentist-we put this plan together during several consults) would run about 35k on the low side. The cost here is just under 10k. Working for multi-national companies over the years along with my travels here, I have had previous dental work done in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Many more over the years on the other side of this planet Anyway, D-Day has arrived. They all get Yanked and the titanium screws that will hold Ze German implants will be drilled into my jaw in about 2 hours. Good times

You could have flown to Singapore in the morning and been back by the afternoon.

Does anyone have a translation for this bit of fucktardary? Your polluting of threads is now becoming an issue here. Where people in this reigon choose to get dental work done is of importance to many a poster here. Do take your verbal spew elsewhere.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 7:07 amYou could have flown to Singapore in the morning and been back by the afternoon.

Unlike yourself, who was just giving yourself a pat on the back, my post was full of information for expats that live out here.
1. Go to Singapore. It's a cheap and quick flight from HCM and offers US/ European quality dental treatment at cheaper prices.
2. European Dental in district 2 HCM for a so called SEA equivalent. It has similar prices to Singapore, but without the fully trained modern dentists.
Interesting about how much you have to pay in the States, though.

I have been to Singapore about a half dozen times. The cost is above that of Thailand. Do fuck off back to wherever the fuck you came from. Then fuck off again.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 7:50 amUnlike yourself, who was just giving yourself a pat on the back, my post was full of information for expats that live out here.

It's my understanding that these implants require a large number of appointments over a few months? If that's true, unless you live in Ho ChI Minh City the extra costs of traveling would add up. I need some serious work done myself so I'd be interested in hearing more about it.

When you get an implant inserted it takes roughly 4 months for the titanium rod to bond to your jawbone. Typically 3 or 4 visits initially and a bit more time-wise after the tooth has bonded. I had 6 teeth yanked(briges/caps removed) and 4 implants drilledLucky Lucan wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 8:21 pmIt's my understanding that these implants require a large number of appointments over a few months? in place today. I have 2 more appointments sat/sun then no more for the upper until the teeth have bonded 4 to 6 months from now. This procedure is called All on 4, meaning the 4 implants support a fixed denture consisiting of 10 to 14 teeth. It is a replacement for the entire set of teeth in the upper jaw. I am paying 7k for this, it typically runs well north of 20k in the states. My rt on Delta from Seattle was $589. I have a condo type room along the river in District 4 with an infinity pool for $24 a night midweek, $40 on the weekends.

^ as a man who hates going to the dentist ( along with visits to the doctor) this ounds like pure torture. I must hope that it is all done under a general anaesthetic and not a local injection.
k440, something to do when you're pissed.

Sounds reasonable enough, I don't need that many replaced but at least I have a rough idea.Sonic1 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 12:06 amWhen you get an implant inserted it takes roughly 4 months for the titanium rod to bond to your jawbone. A single implant here typically runs between $700-1200 depending on materials used, $700-On the low end are Korean made implants with Swiss ones on the high end. American and German made occupy Ze middle ground. I've had several root canals done here previously. The going rate is about 50$. I had a Swiss-trained Thai dentist in Bangkok quote me $1000 for a single root canal. I contacted about 20 clinics before I made my choice. This clinic in this vid was in my top 3 but was outbid. This video was made a Finnish dentist and gives a good synopsis here in Saigon.

I went with a local anesthetic. The implant drilling part is painless as there are no nerves in bone. They fed me some codeine at the start and at the 2 hour mark about midway thru. Honestly Horace I was more afraid of the anesthesiologist here than the dentist. If they screw up on a molar it's one thing... Overall it is a miserable fucking experience. Evey Gddamn dentist I have eve met tells me I need to spend more money. It's always the same with these guys-more money. If you want good English speaking skills in your dental staff here it will cost you top dollar. You can expect the typical communication breakdowns etc..

Not sure if this should be separate.
I was told at my health check of all places I need my wisdom teeth removed because of decay.
I trust a real dr in a govt hospital than the "dentists" here that tell me my expensive implants from 1 of the best dentists in England r crap and they need to yank them out for 1000$ -so many scum viets like them make money from pulling people's front teeth out. that's torture for money.
I know a good dentist in Nha Trang -doesnt do any unnecessary work but ive only had 200k cleaning so far.
Will get 2nd (and 3rd, 4th) opinion but if it's just decay they can fill it. I have been feeling a stiff jaw recently but put that down to anxiety or sth.
Im 39 so a weird age to have probs with wisdom teeth

Very relevant as you are live there. I am still a bit livid over everything that happened to me once the word money was involved. If you have any underlying health issues you seriously need to consider another country. I had to make these 'tards stop and check my blood pressure at one point. It was so high they had to stop for 30 minutes. Almost zero pharmacological knowledge posessed by the Viet's. Just got back and will have much more to say in a bit.AnassRamaIV wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 3:19 pmNot sure if this should be separate.
