I'm about to cook white bait fritters.
Tried cooking this once before, they were just ok but not great.

I know this is more a Kiwi dish than an Oz one.
But Heck, I was once married to a Kiwi so I thought I'd give it another try.
I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

Grill is on.

Aw jeez guys, can we keep this thread at some decent level?

Soon we'll have chicken posting pics of his daily grub and empty beer bottles if the downward trend initiated by scoffer continues

Scoffer mate, whitebait fritters are easy peasy, beat 2/3 eggs, add half a cup of whitebait, Mix. Pan fry in butter.Turn once . Drizzle with lemon.. I wanna know where you got the whitebait? Is it the frozen Indonesian stuff? or the real deal Kiwi bait.

I'd snuck a few samples of the Octopus earlier on and it was suggesting a good flavor.
But today I said enough is enough, no more waiting and loaded up my plate.
I'd have to say this is my best ever attempt at marinated Octopus.

Served on a mixed bed of lettuce with Cold buckwheat noodles, Cherry Tomatoes, Prawns and pickled Octopus.
The vinaigrette marinate was then lavishly dribbled over everything on the plate.
Damm, It was the best !

Two meals on the go at the moment.

1st meal is two racks of pork ribs. ( in the oven as I type )
One rack smeared with Sweat Soy, Normal Soy, Honey , Garlic, plus salt and pepper.
2nd rack smeared with a Chinese BBQ Sauce ( not use this before so will have to wait for a taste test,)

Meal No 2 is a stew made up of:
2 kgs of Chuck steak
1 kg of beef kidney.
Butter Nut pumpkin, Sweet Potato, Green beans, Corn on the cob ( cut into slices ) whole Small Potato's, Cauliflower and a few extras green things that were in my fridge.

Please drop by for a bite to eat, but bring your own beer.

That's nice of you to offer but I think I'll stick to safer recipes.

Went shopping at the Asian Markets in Springvale ( Melbourne, Oz ) last weekend and the missus made several purchases that are not all that easy to get at the local butcher shop. ( Chicken feet, Pork Gizzards, Chicken and Duck hearts, other assorted bits of dead animals )

Tonight's meal was boiled Japanese egg noodles with stir fried vegetables and chicken hearts.

I'm under orders to go back next Saturday and purchase several kilos of pigs nose, pigs ear and pigs cheek, as this will make a fabulous meal - According to her. Yes - I've eaten them in the past, they are a bit chewy but the flavor is quite good.

All I can say is that you are lucky I've not mastered the ability to post pictures.

Dinner tonight - Beef Lak Lak,
Quite a tasty meal made by a better cook than I.

However there is a large bowl of chicken feet marinating in fridge.
The marinate is interesting, the ingredients that I recognized were Lemon grass, Spring onion, Ginger, Lime Zest, Chile (3 different sorts) , sugar, sliced lemons and limes, fish sauce, garlic, a spoon full of fish paste / porok stuff, plus pepper and salt.

There were also several other liquids and herbs added before I had the chance to observe.
Overall a very fragrant and spicy marinate.

So tomorrow nights meal will be interesting.

Have a chicken foot for me....no, really....have it for me. I don't understand the appeal and never will. I'd rather eat cardboard.

The absolute worst thing I ever had the displeasure to chew and spit out. This is just vile, no matter how you try to disguise it.
