so i was in my local corner store tonight and i noticed they had air rifle slugs: the lead type. my corner store guy (gold teef) informed me that they were in fact for air guns which he believed they were available in Phnom penh in a certain market close to the center- wink wink. Im not talking about the plastic pellet shooting type- these sukas are usually solid wood and gun metal and will put a hole in brick. My question is- has any body seen them for sale? and Are they legal here?

I'm not sure about the not available part... I often see guys out in the countryside hunting with them. I've never asked anyone where they got them. However all the rifles are pretty much identical, and they're sophisticated enough (with metal barrels etc) that I don't think they're just home-made, so I reckon there must be specific guys who are making and selling them, and that you could find one for sale if you asked around enough out in the countryside. They're huge though, something like 5 feet long:

Those guns certainly look homemade, and they don't look like air-rifles. They are probably those musket type things they use in the hills of Laos.

No, they're air rifles -- the pressure is built up by a tyre pump thing that doubles as a forestock (take a closer look at the pics).
As for 'home-made', depends what your definition is, and it's kind of irrelevant anyway. My point is, it's clear enough that the guys doing the hunting are not the ones making them, which means that someone else is... so there are people out there manufacturing and selling them, and I'm sure you could buy one if you asked around.

A few years ago a westerner was nicked for using an air rifle and I heard it cost him plenty of money to make his problem go away. However, the cockhead was taking potshots from his balcony

Which weapons are legal and available? Knives? Machetes? Swords? Bow and arrow? Crossbow? Slingshot? ghostly evil pointy finger with dark stare and cockerel sound?

Depends on who you are. You probably only qualify for a broomstick.
