Where can you buy free weights and bench in PP? I do not need anything professional, I am astoundingly out of shape. So, basic equiptment will do.

Near the corner of Monivong and Kampuchea Krom (on Monivong on the eastern side)there are a few fitness shops.

If by out of shape you mean fat, I would suggest a bicycle/exercise bicycle plus a diet rather than weights.

If you are astoundingly out of shape, use body weight resistance exercises first . Push ups, sit ups, pull ups, squats. And do some cardio.
No need to go bench pressing until you can cope with 20+ push ups, IMHO.

Get a bike. Use it. Stop drinking soda and eating processed snack foods. Eat until you are not hungry, not until you are full. Do press ups and sit ups morning and night. Cycle to Garage for beer. Cycle to the Olympic Stadium and do aerobics with the ladies.

Vlad's directions to sports shops are good. Get a skipping rope and a speed bag while you are there (easy to transport). You need to get your heart rate up and sweat a little mate. They also have a range of dumb bells and so on. Forget the bench, unless you are getting serious.

I know I need to do cardio, but I thought I would mix it up with some weight training as well.

BE careful what you buy. I bought a speed bag. First direct hit on it and I had a bladder and a some elastic.

I did get a work out as I threw 200 haymakers before I connected.

connie, you like Italian food, specifically pizza, yes?

You need to restrict this to 1/2 days/week, and watch alcohol intake.

You may find, like I did, that I enjoy shit like lasagne more when I have it less often.

Exercise like a dog for 4 or 5 days. Eat like a king for 2. You will lose weight. The skipping rope is a better suggestion, I can't do it (kneecap missing), but way better than the bike.

On the topic of food, for the past few weeks I have been eating pretty poorly. I would get home late from work too tired to cook. On such nights, I would eat out (sometimes 3 nights at lucky - while lucky burger sucks, it tastes better than most of the Khmer food I have eaten). As for eating high carb Italian foods, that's between once to twice a week.

Now that my work day ends earlier I am starting to cook more often. I am planning on doing an Atkins diet. Next Tuesday is payday and I will do some proper shopping then. Another problem is that my metabolism is slow as hell owing to the fact that I eat at most two meals a day, but normally I eat only one.

Regarding skipping rope, I am not sure I am coordinated enough to skip rope down the street. I think I will try to master jumping rope in place first. :thumbsup:

The anonymity of forums makes people dicks for sure. I was not saying that my current physical condition is the result of three weeks of a poor diet. I was merely stating that due to last semesters work hours, my diet became far worse.

I wonder if Satan ™ would call a stranger a fat disgusting piece of shit in person? If yes, what kind of broken life lead to that?
