"Giant" bikes - sale
at Toul Kork's new bike shop just off the roundabout toward Royal Rattanak and Thai Hout.
Brand new Giant Revel currently for sale at $246.50, which is cheaper than the O'Russei bike streets want for a stripped down old wrecker of a frame with bodge-refitted Chinese componentry.
The Toul Kork shop's worth a visit.
Bigger savings on L and XL frames.

yes... 20% off
After chasing shadows around for months looking for a new bike, my old one finally collapsed on Saturday.
Got a Revel to commute and continue the search... plenty nice enough for getting around in Phnom Penh.

I'm sure Giant has a similar version. Flying Bikes sell Hydrapaks - as good as a camelbak.ricecakes wrote:Do they sell camelbak ?
If that's the backpack affair with the drinking hose attached, then yes, they do.
How do you clean one of those after it's carried water for a couple of sunny days? Whisky?

I boil the kettle and pour it through, or invert it and give it a good scrub if it is looking gunky.

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

Thanks. Never really looked at bicycle accessories there before, but I'm getting interested now that I'm finally bringing my old bike back with me from the west. Good thing I didn't splurge on one of those 45$ lights they sell there
As for Camepack maintenance, I've never had an issue. You're supposed to drain them and let them air dry if you're not going to use it for a bit, but unless a tiny morsel of bread falls in there or something, I've never had any smell/mildew problems before. Obviously, you need to change water that's been sitting there for a while (and avoid leaving it out in the sun in the first place), but that's pretty much it. They do sell "cleaning kits" I think. Kind of like purification tablets or scrubbing instruments. I just use my (freshly washed) hands to get it all clean. I've never used soap or anything.

I don't know, I've always carried 4 water bottles (2 on frame, 2 on backpack) with me on bikes rides so that my back was freed up for a backpack. Never did like the hydrapacks but that's because they were expensive where I lived and water bottles were cheap.

Try running wearing a hydrapak vs. carrying 4 water bottles!AK87 wrote:I don't know, I've always carried 4 water bottles (2 on frame, 2 on backpack) with me on bikes rides so that my back was freed up for a backpack.
