Question about boarding for family from the countryside.
Hi there, I know I am a new poster around here, but this forum has given me countless of good advice before.
I am looking for a good school to possibly board a family relative in the pre teen age here in Phnom Penh for about a year to start with.
Does anyone have any suggestions in regards to where one can find information towards finding a good school, and what the prices are for a years scholarship.
I can assure you that this girl is well behaved, and sociable.
I am thinking she would be great help to keep around the house here in the city, when she is not busy attending her education.

When you say "board, " do you want her to live at the school? Or are you just looking to enroll her in a school and have her live with you?
What help is a 12 year old kid going to be around the house? Like as a maid/night security guard?

Not looking for a maid, and these are family relations without any problems thru almost 5 years.
I am looking for possible help with keeping the house surely, as well as an expanding family.

I'm still confused if you are looking for a school where she would live, or just a school to enroll her while she lived with you.
In the US, when we "board" a kid at a school, it means they live there. If you could clarify that, it might help people respond.

I meant a place where she might be free to choose to sleep over as well as some sort of lunch. I really don't know much about schools here.

Looking for somewhere for a young girl to stay when she is away from her parents' home?

I suggest you contact the NGO called Pour un Sourire d'Enfant (PSE) in Steung Meanchey, and discuss it with them.
But it sounds like you're not quite sure what you/she wants.

Suppose I landed here with a few kids pre teen age out of France, where would I board them?

You wouldn't board them. You would have them live with you. I don't have kids, but most people I know with preteen kids live with them.
Why not just have her live with you full time, if part of the reason you are doing this is to have her around the house for light cleaning/gardening/babysitting/carpentry? Then you could choose any school. Why does she need another place to sometimes sleep?

Exactly, my apartment is too small at the moment to have her here full time, but I was thinking to have her help out in the house in exchange for her attending a fairly good school here, preferably until end of a semester,
My job requires me to travel a great deal so I also would like her to be able to provide some sort of protection for my home as well of course.

Are you serious? A teenage girl? You would be setting her up for a fail.eurothrash wrote:My job requires me to travel a great deal so I also would like her to be able to provide some sort of protection for my home as well of course.
