Finally got a place with kitchen, so I'm going to start buying meat at a local market.
Considering I was quoted $8 for a small cooked chicken the last time I was there I don't want to get ripped off.
Any cheap cut of chicken or pork will do as I just want it for the protein and not the taste, which will be hidden in a curry anyway.
Cheers
How much should I be paying for meat at the market?
If you're buying from the local meat markets, you might get some extra special flavours you weren't expecting anyway! Not exactly the bastion of cleanliness.

Good quality chicken is $2 - $2.50 a kilo , Thai chicken , not the scrawny khmer chooks .
There are a couple of stalls that sell pieces and whole chooks .
Pork is generally $3.75 kilo , ribs cut into small pieces make a great curry .
Beef is between $9.50 - $10.50 a kilo and is crap , I get steaks from Lees at about $16 kilo

Thanks for the feedback, looking forward to cooking my own meals again.
A stupid question, but can you buy coconut milk in those little milk cartons?
