Going car shopping, ask me anything.
Going car shopping, ask me anything.
***Mods, I posted here to inform anyone that might not see the Car and Bikes thread (since there's less traffic there). If you want to delete this because of guidelines, that's fine. I just wanted the word out to as many as possible since I'm only shopping for the next 3 days (many might miss the memo altogether).***
(COPIED FROM CARS AND BIKES THREAD)
One of my 11 siblings wants to buy a car, so I'm going shopping with them at a bunch of dealers over the next three days.
Anything that anyone wants to ask, feel free and either post or shoot me a PM.
i.e.:
What can I get for $3k, $10k, $25k?
How much is tax on a 20xx etc etc.?
How can I tell if something is good or not?
What dealers are shady and which are not?
Whatever you want to ask. I'll be shopping Wed, Thurs, Fri so I can keep my eyes open for anyone here and free to answer any questions as well.
Cheers!

Dammit Akira - there is only one car to buy at the moment, that S55 with the M113 E55, a longer stroke over the M113 E50.
That is a bloody good engine - a bored out version of my sweet M113 E43 that can do 100 mph in its' sleep on the PP - Kampot road when it's empty.

^^I might trust you at the helm of such vessel, but for Khmer I'm thinking it's better to stick them behind a TD Citroen and call it a day! lol.
Actually, a Citroen C6 might be a good car for here because of how bad the roads are now that I think of it.

Citroen!? Where would you even acquire such a car? You could buy one of those Peugeots that as far as I can tell were dumped on the government bureaucracy after they fumbled their second attempt at the Cambodian market. You can have any colour you like as long as it is Navy blue.AE86 wrote:^^I might trust you at the helm of such vessel, but for Khmer I'm thinking it's better to stick them behind a TD Citroen and call it a day! lol.

Only you could pull of such an audacious move Akira. You are such a sadist you relish the opportunity to work for hours on a Baguette-mobile in a country bereft of partsAE86 wrote:Import from France of course! lol. Hell, if you are such a sucker for punishment you should redirect your efforts and spend several years trying to fix Andy's Celica.

@ Spigzy - I love the censorship. Don't worry, we are on the same page.

Nice thread Akira, and I love how you're always so willing to help other posters
Point of order though: You can't go waltzing off to America and then pop back in bloody September hoping to pick up the Nicest Poster of the Year Award for Captain Bonez's awards 2014. I think you won it last year. You need to be here a minimum of six months
