The key to understanding
I have recently tried reading 440 threads backwards. It's amazing! They make better sense, they're logical, and hair-freckles disappear before one reads, no need to peek and then foe.

Why do I imagine that your daily life follows a schedule like:
Wake up.
Check K440 on your Blackberry from 2001.
Eat rice gruel.
Put on cheap ill fitting shirt from some god awful market.
Ride a bicycle to a shitty English school.
"Teach" kids who could care less for 3 hours at $7 a hour.
Eat prohuk.
"Teach" older kids who actually dislike you for 3 more hours at $7 an hour.
Ride your bicycle home, thinking up a witty pun on the way that you can post later.
Drink a can of black panther.
Eat white rice and dried fish.
Post your pun of the day on K440.
Sleep.
I know I'm at least 90% on here.

I'm smart enough not to teach English for pennies in Southeast Asia.prahocalypse now wrote:splinter wrote: "Teach" kids who could care less for 3 hours at $7 a hour.

I am also smart enough to correct you. This will be the second time you attempted to correct me (for what reason I don't know) only to fail.
"I could care less" is one of those idiomatic expressions, particularly in American English, that doesn’t necessarily mean what it says. There are many suggestions for the origin of the phrase, the most recent of which is that it's a corruption of "I couldn’t care less," possibly first used in the UK in the 1940s. By the 1960s, Americans had adopted the slightly modified version, perhaps out of laziness, poor hearing or deliberate irony... In any case, "I could care less," is typically interpreted as not caring at all. Whether by omission, design, laziness or quote, it’s one of those mixed up idioms that plagues learners of English. [And apparently it plagues teachers of English too -- splntr]. - http://www.wisegeek.org/what-does-i-cou ... s-mean.htm
Another:
I (or he, she, etc.) couldn't (North American informal also could) care less - http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/defin ... glish/care
If it's good enough for Jane Austen and Oxford, it's good enough for me.

1. No Blackberry, Samsung Galaxy.
2. Pork and rice, boiled eggs and toast, or muesli, plus iced coffee.
3. Ride a decent motorcycle, Honda 250. Beats the crap out of your pink Scoopy, right
4. Go to one of /the best universities in Phnom Penh, $15/hour
5. Eat chicken peri-peri or French bread baguette with sardines
6. Teach adults for $12/hour
7. Drive home on said 250.
8. Have salad with cheese/egg/lettuce/tomato/onion/pickles
9. Post some sense, which is in direct opposition to you, Skype your mother, reject her in favour of non-trans-gender, decent-gene, sane people
10. Read some Dickens/Dahl/Chekov/Smith/Twain/Tennyson
11. Get laid
12. Sleep
So yes, you were basically right...if you're retarded...oh, wait, it's genetic.

I would literally slit my wrists in the middle of the Night Market if this was all I could muster as a grown man with a university degree.vladimir wrote:4. Go to one of /the best universities in Phnom Penh, $15/hour

The average hourly wage for high school drop out retail workers at Costco where I'm from is $21 an hour.
Making more than Vladmir, with full benefits to boot.
How did you save up a bride price to hand over to your Khmer in-laws on those wages? Cut back on the Anchor cans for 10 years to save up?
By the way, "best university in Phnom Penh" is an oxymoron. It's like saying "the best virgin in this whore house." No degree from any school anywhere in this entire country would be taken seriously by even the lowliest of employers in the US.

No, it's not.
Not 'particularly'. Solely.
It's a complete usage fuck-up, designed by retards for retards.
You may use it, but like the double negative, it's designed by retards for retards.
I ain't got none.
Check Fowler's Modern English Usage: it may be challenging as you see a foreign language for the first time, but try hard and you may succeed.
By the way, how is Virginia? North Carolina? Mississippi?
Your education was shit, that can be fixed. But your attitude is also shit, and your genetics, well, Deliverance springs to mind.
Prognosis: not promising

I'm from New York City, the greatest city in the world. You're a boer from South Africa. Are you sure you want to have this conversation?
Whether or not Brits and the retarded offspring they've abandoned in their failed colonial holdings would like to admit it or not, American English became the world standard many years ago (like the US dollar, which you use every day -- don't see many Rand about town do you?). The idiom in question has been in use in America for many decades by everyone from esteemed authors like Jane Austen to lowly working class folks who use double negatives. I think I'll take common colloquial use and recognition by Oxford over the ramblings of a withered old expat with Muesli belt malnutrition who groans in 35 degree heat in a crumbling classroom without air conditioning for $12 an hour -- less than uneducated elderly cashiers make in the West.
I wouldn't take a piss for your monthly salary.

The greatest shitty in the world...that got its arse kicked...
You funny, and not in a good way.
Good thread for adverse effects of in-breeding.
Double negatives, crappy prepositions, retard usage, declining power, terrible international reputation...
Hitler also used control of media to gain acceptance.
Great recommendations.
You can't compete.
