For every year you stay in Cambodia, it takes 2 years off
I heard today - and I'm not sure if it's true or not - that for every year you stay as an ex or sex pat in Cambodia, it takes 2 years off your life. Cos off stuff like drinking too much, smoking to much and eating questionable food on a daily basis. So if you stay here for 10 years, you will die 20 years before your real due date. Lets say that someone stays here for 35 years, that would take 70 years off their life.

So for many that would mean he was dead before he ever got here. Seems a kind of poetic truth to that.Rib wrote:...Lets say that someone stays here for 35 years, that would take 70 years off their life.
I have no idea where you got that misleading information but it is a long way from how it really is in regards to health . Food for tnstance is more fre4sh than in North America with far less poisons sprayed on all you eat and most is harvested the day it is consumed ncluding the fish still flopping in the bucket .
I went to Cambodia in the first place to get off all medications given after two heart attacks following the advice of the Thai doctor who treated my second one , i did not feel as healthy as i thought i should . In one month i had quit all , my BP dropped to 120/;'60 and my resting pulse 58 .

I got here then stopped drinking then stopped smoking and eat the best food I've had in 30 years.
In following the principles of time relativity regarding the altitude of a clock above sea level I'll say that for every year I age in Cambodia (while keeping away from Waste and the majority of its prior inhabitants) that's roughly the equivalent of living 3 years in Goode Olde Blighted. If I stay away for long enough maybe I'll return to meet myself leaving school.
Watching old mates on facebook confirms this. Fk me, do they look old and fat.
'Cambodia Years' could be the inverse of dog years, yes?
Good concept.
I'm 21.

False. I'm American, I actually drink less and eat better food in cambo. No McDonald's in cambo. I usually lose weight here

True that. I eat far healthier food here in Cambodia than in the States, without even trying.JimSocks wrote:False. I'm American, I actually drink less and eat better food in cambo. No McDonald's in cambo. I usually lose weight here

Obviously.
You can choose any lifestyle you want anywhere in the world at any time you want.
Obviously.
I love fish and chips with vinegar in newspaper!!!
Questionable - funds & visa may be an issue plus North Korea will probably frown upon it.Dagenham wrote:You can choose any lifestyle you want anywhere in the world at any time you want. Obviously.
