Wearing helmets on moto enforced?
For the last week, I've seen the fatties wearing a Police uniform being far more active than usual & pulling over a lot of people driving without a helmet.
It happened on the junction under the 7 Makara bridge, with the cops standing on the road to prevent people from "escaping".
Also I've noticed that more & more people seem to wear a helmet (exception made of course by the freshy boys & the Scoopy lolitas)
Anyone else noticed policemen becoming active on this "wear a helmet or give me a bribe" topic? Or is this only a localized action?

Sometimes. Usually in spates. Though since they are incapable of enforcing more than one traffic law at a time, they'll eventually switch to enforcing something else.Wearing helmets on moto enforced?

No helmet on a moto no problem for me. Still be aware and use correct positioning in traffic as they do sometimes decide to try to stop a baseball cap.
Funniest recently was the trio who jumped out to grab that same black cap only to see a bicycle outaccellerating motos from the green light. They looked royally pissed off as they realised bicycle = no money.

It is actually illegal to drive a vehicle without a shirt. That's an old law that was implemented years back because of the large number of accidental deaths involving shirtless folk.RainMan wrote:I was told once that they can fine you for not wearing a shirt.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

It is pretty strictly enforced in SHV.
Main places are the lights at Charlie Harpers and the Golden Lions roundabout. Also at various points along Eckerach Street.

I love fish and chips with vinegar in newspaper!!!
Thanks
but don't you see it as strange that on a bicycle (which is faster than a moto most times in the city here) there's no legal need for a helmet so they dont stop me?

That law should be extended to include wearing a "wife beater" as there are also a lot of "accidents" involving people wearing themLucky Lucan wrote:It is actually illegal to drive a vehicle without a shirt. Just outlaw people driving vehicles, almost all road accidents involve people driving vehiclesLucky Lucan wrote:That's an old law that was implemented years back because of the large number of accidental deaths involving shirtless folk.
