A bit short notice but I'm planning a family break over easter to Koh Kong, and into Thailand.
I'm thinking Tratt, Koh Chang, maybe as far north as Pattaya (but not actually there for a family holiday, obviously).
Any recommendations where to go, places to stay, things to do (Khmer wife, kids 3-7yo)?
Budget, midrange to cheapish, but not down and out and of course needs to be facebook-friendly. Eg hotel $20-40/night? I don't really know what to expect.
Family short break koh kong, koh chang, thai coast?
Skip Trat and go straight to Koh Chang.............it is a very nice island.

Further to the earlier thread on this, I have today booked 3-nights in Ta Tai Resort & Marina over KNY and then will take my visiting friends from Thailand to Koh Chang, as they have never been there also.electron wrote:A bit short notice but I'm planning a family break over easter to Koh Kong, and into Thailand.

Will report back on the place we get in KC, as we are looking now.
When staying at Ta Tai ensure the car has the handbrake applied when
parked.

If your trip is too short, might be hard to reach Pattaya. Koh Kong to Koh Chang will take you over half a day because you have to change tranportation a lot. Border - Trat - Pier - Boat - Local island tansport. Koh Chang is great for your kids, bu Koh Kong itself is worth a day or two visit in this season.electron wrote:A bit short notice but I'm planning a family break over easter to Koh Kong, and into Thailand.

And what's 'facebook-friendly'?

There's a lot of family-friendly activities at Koh Chang so make sure not to miss this. Depending on the length of your tour, your itinerary seems doable. The waterfalls in Trat are wonderful too. You can also take your kids to the Ripleys and Nong Nuch Botanical Garden in Pattaya.
