The white thin plumbers style could work in a pinch, but looking for wider, black.

I think you mean self amalgamating tape? black stuff with plastic on one side that you strip off. Sticks to itself for a weather proof seal.
You can get 3M stuff out here apprx $8 a large roll. I could only find the thin stuff in SNVL. They also had some Chinese stuff for $4, I didn't even try.
Not sure where in PP, but I get mine from a good family electrical shop In SNVL.
Not the exact box, but looks very similar to this stuff:
That image you posted looks like that nasty Chinese stuff. I would go with the 3M stuff myself. We used to use it when installing satellite LNB's. Good weather protection against UV too.

No, haven't. In the past I'd have scoured Russian market hardware section. Will check them out.oxbowlarry wrote:did you go to Home Top ? That's the first place I'd try.

Yes, the very same. Black, blue, whatever. In Australia we just call it silicone tape. Photo was just the first thing that appears in google.SCC wrote:I think you mean self amalgamating tape? black stuff with plastic on one side that you strip off. Sticks to itself for a weather proof seal.

I'd go to Home Top second, after I'd been to Home Fix (about 1km further up Mao Tse Tung, other side of road, next to Vanda Institute)oxbowlarry wrote:did you go to Home Top ? That's the first place I'd try.

IMO Home Fix is far better than Home Top and they have got a ridiculous selection of tape...like 2 display shelves of the stuff and another one for glues.
