I'm trying to sell my DR800. It's a lovely bike, big and easy with effortless power and suspension that makes the Cambodian 'roads' tolerable. She's a big lump so this is not an ideal bike for smaller riders or people without experience. It's tall, heavy and intimidating at first but a real pussycat when you get to know her.
I'm the first and only owner in the country, it has card and plate in my name with picture, all completely legit. It's in great condition, not a mark on the plastic and everything running smoothly. That's not saying much, these things have a solid reputation for reliability. It's stock standard, never been fucked around with and has been very well looked after. Only issue is the key snapped and I had to have a copy made, it's a little fiddly in the tank lock. Also the bash-plate is missing, it didn't come with out.
She has to go or else I have to sell my XR400 and of the two, I prefer the XR as I like to ride in the woods. So, I've tried to sell it before but this is a big machine and not ideal for most people. With the impending prospect of losing my 400 I'm taking one final punt.
This week only, until Friday I'm offering this bike at $2500. No offers, no negotiations. Have the cash by Friday and she's yours, if not then I'll just keep it and sell the 400 instead.
Thanks for reading.

Pity for you that you were such a wanker when you posted the bike for sale at $4,000; see repost below.
I had interest and would then have possibly paid a fair bit more than you want now but you were too arrogant to answer the questions.
I'll take it. $1,200, no counter offers. Offer expires midnight on Wednesday 6 May 2015.

How many km's?
Is it a 520 or a 525 chain?
What size front and rear sprockets come with it?
What speed does it comfortably cruise at in top gear without burning too much juice?
How many km's per litre do you get through on the highway?
Do you ride it around PP very much?
Is it taxed and plated and is the card in your name?
What does it do that a DR650 cannot do (which is 47kgs lighter)?
If you're a serious buyer, please PM me. If you're just a guy looking to validate your DR650 then good luck to you.
@invented name. I'm not giving her away and I'm not in a rush. If you're interested, PM me. If you're just looking for attention, you just got some. Well done, you.
No point in copying and pasting the same questions into a pm.
I was a serious buyer, but I do not deal with wankers.
Good luck, you will need it.

Note to self: Must be nice to morons.
You weren't interested John, you're just a silly little man asking silly little questions. You were invited to PM me to discuss your serious interest but your crazy ego flared up and you made a cock of yourself. In any case, show up with $2500 and the bike is yours. If you don't have it then this isn't the thread for you.

Haha, I have to say LJ is sounding like a prick. While most of your questions are legitimate, there are two which make you come off as a real tire kicker. Why exactly would you want to know the chain size or sprocket tooth count? Are you wondering if he went one up or down from stock on either one? Would you be able to tell the difference? Asking what the bike does that a 650 can't do is equally ridiculous and makes you sound like a time waster/someone not even in the market for a bike. What exactly do you want him to tell you? You want him to legitimize Suzuki management and engineer's decision to produce the bike? That's why I sometimes prefer to just sell to Khmers. Dealing with barang tire-kickers is a real pain. Though you won't get the best price, Khmer shops will both buy and sell right away and save you the hassle of dealing with people like that. I've seen some of the bikes this guy has put up for sale on Facebook and they always look nice. If the XR is the one I think it is (put up for sale last year at some point), then I kind of wish he doesn't sell the DR so I can scoop up the 400. Timing is a bit off (was looking at November for a new bike in the 400cc range), but you never know...

That was actually a guest house in Sihanoukville. Anti-gravity was free of charge, it also came with a complimentary bout of stomach problems and a hangover.

I'm not pointing the finger at one specific person when I say this, but too often people ask me questions when buying a bike that show they are entirely overthinking the situation at hand. Stuff like specific brake compounds, exact chain deflection measurements, shock oil weight differences, alternator output levels, etc etc. Don't think too much, if the price matches and you like the bike, then buy it. If you find you don't like it, then sell it...
Truth is, there's no magical mystery with certain things on bikes. There's no wizardy expertise with engineer decisions often times. i.e. The Honda Hunter Cub. Some people wanted the Super Cub with off-road capabilities, so what did Honda do? They found a guy in the U.S. who was putting different sprockets and knobby tires on stock Cubs and copied him. Can't get much more lazy than that.

I don't think 'barangs' have a monopoly on stupid questions. I don't mind people asking serious questions, of course, that's fair enough but every time I've tried to sell this bike I get sniped at. It's a big machine and it seems to bring out the worst in people, perhaps threatening some inflated egos. From my point of view, I have a nice bike I love, it was off the road and I needed something for frequent rides back and forth to Thailand (where you need a nice bike that can cruise). This looked ideal but once I'd bought it, I never went to Thailand by bike again and it's become the most expensive clothes hanger I've ever owned. I'm going to lose money on this but it's my own stupid fault and I'm resigned to it. No need for ego flare-ups, I bought the wrong bike for me because my needs changed.
