Far too many foolish people rolling up these days. I guess that's the price a place has to pay for popularity.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
This instantly reminded me of XTC, (pun intended)
That's really super, superweird!
Without any further, solid intel about this story, (Joon, Rama.. anyone)
it's completely futile to armchair wank about it.

I closed my eyes and she slipped away

Cambodia is not ready for prime time yet, despite Starbucks.Lucky Lucan wrote:Far too many foolish people rolling up these days. I guess that's the price a place has to pay for popularity.

Rolling up and rolling up their sleeves.Lucky Lucan wrote:Far too many foolish people rolling up these days.
The article only reports that according to the wife, Davies came back home from teaching for lunch on 26 April and slept on the sofa.
Later in the afternoon, he felt sick and she had the landlord/lady to bring him to Calmette hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Not sure whether it's the doctor or the local "coroner" committee that suggests his death may have been caused by a morphine overdose.
In any case, way too young to go. RIP and condolences to the young widow.

Was the wife on morphine also? Too high to take her dying husband to the hospital?Joon wrote:Later in the afternoon, he felt sick and she had the landlord/lady to bring him to Calmette hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
I can't believe a wife of an opiate user never noticed it. Perhaps the overdose claim came directly from her.
Bless
Maybe she was at work and got a call?
I was wondering that too but there can be various explanations: at office or in the province.

The Ministry of Competent Authorities™ usually declare such things.Joon wrote:Not sure whether it's the doctor or the local "coroner" committee that suggests his death may have been caused by a morphine overdose.
I've always wondered, given the propensity for the media here to write whatever the feel and quote unnamed sources who may or may not have any knowledge or authority to speak, if it's not the actual cause (proven how, I'm not sure), is there grounds for defamation case against Kampuchea Thmey et al?
Condolences to his family.
I guess there'd be a packet or two lying around.LTO wrote:Unless told by a witness, how would they now which opiate is the culprit?
Hell, I accidentally popped a 30mg instead of a 10 somewhere over Siberia myself the other night. Took a bit of holding it together and a judicious vomit or two to make it through the next couple of hours.
Not to be taken lightly, these things. Stay upright.

Fair enough. They sell mophine here over the counter? I tried buying that at a pharmacy here once. Major pain in the butt. Couldn't get it. Ended up with some other sort of opiate painkiller.RobW wrote:I guess there'd be a packet or two lying around.LTO wrote:Unless told by a witness, how would they now which opiate is the culprit?
