Moving Mirrors
I'm refurbishing a shop-house, and there are four giant mirrors patched together on one wall. I need to take them down to use somewhere else in the building or just get rid of them if they break.
I've asked numerous builders to do it and none have gone near it. They are seriously unwieldy, way too big to actually get your arms around, and unstable too. Some of the middle joins are just Scotch tape that has decayed and there's some silicone and parts resting on bolts etc. I'm wary of touching them in case the fucking things fall down and slice me in half or whatever (They are between 2 and 5 meters up the wall).
So, does anyone know a crew who can do this, or should I just try and buy some of those suction cups and do it myself. I need to move the goddamn things soon.

It sounds like they're almost certainly going to break, so probably best to deliberately break them but in a safe way.

Find the village vampire and sell them to him as I hear he collect mirrors. Although, I don’t know what he sees in them.
My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

Sure, but if I could manage to get some of them down without breaking them it would avoid having too much broken glass to deal with.starkmonster wrote:It sounds like they're almost certainly going to break, so probably best to deliberately break them but in a safe way.
They are too big to do that with.Mirrors are dirt cheap. Blanket bunched up on the floor below them, then someone holds a blanket over them. Hammer time!

Ok, no worries, I got the crew who are working upstairs in the unit to do it for 30,000 riel. A new, much more professional and friendly crew came in after KNY and they are a whole lot different than those horrible little tykes who were doing the brick work before. They are working for a subcontractor but it seems they don't mind the odd bit of moonlighting.

Thanks Finy, you're a real boon. If you want to drop by tomorrow morning and catch the shards I'd really appreciate it. I'll even get a dust mask for you. Check your PM.finy wrote:I would touch them.

I already paid someone to do it Finy. If you want to come around and help catch the glass from below, that's cool. Just don't come running to me complaining that you weren't being paid enough to have to deal with a 70 cm long shard of mirror severing your carotid artery as it sailed towards the floor.
