Anyone have any ghost stories to tell that involve Cambodian highways? The ingredients are all there. Unlit, decrepit, lawless, surrounded by killing fields and mine victims...
About 3 months ago, on a minivan from PP to Sihanoukville, I saw ghosts floating near the van and 1 of them eventually entered the vehicle and sat next to a Cambodian guy. I avoided eye contact or looking in it's direction but when we got to SHV, I told the guy (Khmer, graphics designer whom I had had a brief chat with at the beginning of the journey) that there had been a ghost sitting next to him. He looked at me with a worried expression for a few seconds before breaking into an evil smile and left the van without saying a word to me. To this day I am not sure if he thought that I was insane or if he was in on it/knew about the ghost that was sitting next to him.

On this occasion I was admittedly drunk. But I've seen them once before while completely sober, in another country- about 7 years ago. And the weird part is that others who were with me (several out of many) saw the exact same apparitions as well. That rules out schizophrenia, hopefully.chkwoot wrote:How long have you been able to see ghosts? Do they communicate with you in any way? If so, what do they tell you?

18 months ago I had a very bad bike crash that had me spend 10 days in the hospital. Neither darkness nor the drunken sleeping khmer were ever considered as probable cause but the ghosts prone curbe where it occured...

I'd say the graphics designer with the evil smile was probably in on it. He knew the ghost was there and was trying to freak you out by acting normal and sitting there without mentioning it.brownexile wrote:Anyone have any ghost stories to tell that involve Cambodian highways?
