Light bulbs
Light bulbs
Where can one buy light bulbs in Phnom Penh? Not in Lucky, Aeon supermarket etc. where I would have expected to find them. Any tips? Preferably close to BKK1.

Literally any market... Such as BKK market, or electrical or hardware stores on Monivong off 184. Seriously, you need to venture out of your bubble a bit and start exploring your surroundings. Are people who travel or move to other countries that clueless now? Are you a hipster by any chance?

Lights and lamps shops on the stretch of Monivong boulevard across Wat Koh as LS said.

Thanks for the warm welcoming, I appreciate it! "Venture out of your bubble", I'd dare to guess I've lived in more SEA countries than most of you, and in less hipster friendly conditions... I arrived in PP a few days ago, four out of eight bulbs are broken in the apartment I rent and I work 12 hours day so not that much time to browse markets or random hardware store for simple necessities. Thank you for the answer part of the rants though, they helped!

Thai Hout has them upstairs if you want to pay more than you need to (If they aren't on the shelf, when they run out of shit, they fill the space like they never had the product, and then a bit latter it reappears as if it was never gone). I suspect most of the NGO types would point you toward Home Fix on Mao Tse Tung - again, paying more for shite. A better option - right across from the moto entrance to Aeon on Sorethos there are a row of "hardware" type shops. The dude who runs the one on the north end of the block is a good guy. He has or can get most anything for little repairs around the house (electrical, plumbing, painting, etc.). He has both the new style light bulbs and the older incandescent ones. He will give you a fair price. He's also pretty chatty which you may or may not appreciate. Closer to BKK1, there is a shop on Mao Tse Tung between 63 and 57. They have a lot of stuff with prices marked. They have little to no English, so it's not a bad place to start practicing your Khmer or pantomime.

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.
I already said that!!!Garry Crabtree wrote:I know it but its a pretty obscure number, that you've probably never heard of.alifeapart wrote:How many hipsters does it take to change a lightbulb?

Hipsters don't use lightbulbs, they're all about paraffin lamps
