Kampot: 20k gofundme for Swedish guy
Kampot: 20k gofundme for Swedish guy
From the facespace:
Max Supertramp Karlsson, of High Tide, Kampot, appears to have had an accident: "hit head on by someone going far too fast for the conditions. The person who hit him has since passed away". Max is in Phnom Penh Royal with head injury. Apparently his insurance had "very sadly recently lapsed". His friends are raising money for treatment via gofundme.

High TIde is off Tuek Chou rd, which is probably the most dangerous place to ride a motorcycle if you're involved in any business in Kampot.

Renting a bike in SE Asia + letting your insurance lapse + not wearing a helmet (I'm guessing) = that's one risk factor too many.
I hope he pulls through.

If I read the article correctly, that is what they expect it to be. I can believe that part, much more than the "recently lapsed insurance".Jamie_Lambo wrote:$20k?? expensive bill

Sweden, being a very rich and extremely caring nation for it's citizens, would never let one of their own rot in hell. I smell a rat.
The citizen who is murdered for his ATM card at PP hotel years ago would not agree with u

I'm surprised he has that operation in Royal Phnom Penh. Only a few years ago they were evacuating to Bangkok for that.
If he has indeed had that operation the 20k certainly won't last long and may indeed be used up already.

I don't think they would would evac too many people that can't even pay for their surgery in Cambodia, let alone evac costs and Bangkok surgery prices.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:I'm surprised he has that operation in Royal Phnom Penh. Only a few years ago they were evacuating to Bangkok for that.

The cost wasn't really my point - it was the willingness of the hospital to do surgery like this. Back in the Royal Rattannak days they flatly told me they weren't equipped to do something similar.Miguelito wrote:I don't think they would would evac too many people that can't even pay for their surgery in Cambodia, let alone evac costs and Bangkok surgery prices.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:I'm surprised he has that operation in Royal Phnom Penh. But yeah - I take your point.
