Certificate of non-impediment/single status

Postby Eastboy » Mon May 21, 2018 10:33 pm

Where does a girl get a Certificate of non-impediment/single status, and what documents are required?

I am planning to bring my fiancee to South Africa, as getting married is easier here, and the Certificate of non-impediment/single status is the only required document.

Appreciate any advice. thanks

She can get it from her Sangkat.
She’ll need her family book and ID card then take it to 1St Class Translation to get it translated.
My grief councilor recently died.
Because she did such a good job I didn’t give a shit.

Thank you sir. May I just ask further,
Will they ask for proof of my income? I believe there is a rule where you have to earn a certain amount before you can marry a Cambodian.
This is concerning my financee, but from what I read this only applies if you get married in Cambodia.

Thanks again

That only applies to foreign males marrying Cambodian females in Cambodia.

Tell your missus to go to the Sangkat where she is registered, take her National ID, birth certificate and family book or carnet de residence and request the "Certificate of celibacy, widowhood or divorce" , by herself, keep your white face away, and tell her not to mention that she needs it to marry a foreigner or else they'll most likely try charging her extra. Official fee for this document is 10,000 Riel.

Does South Africa require that the document and translation be certified by the Cambodian MoFAIC? If so, good luck with that.

My fiancé (now wife) got this paper from the officials where her family book was registered, Svay Rieng. Pyramid translated for us.

Her being free to marry has nothing to do with income. It comes in play if you marry her here.

I did show income to my embassy as part of Visa requirement for USA

Tell her to bring a picture of herself, it will be attached to the document and stamped.
