As Cambodia is getting to be the travel destination of choice for total morons, I think that they should have their own thread.

Let's start with this guy, Gerald Forbes, who prior to moving here evidently had his brain surgically removed and replaced with a can of oxtail soup.

Quote:
PHNOM PENH (Reuters) - Cambodia will deport a U.S. veteran who told journalists that militants were planning a rocket attack on the U.S embassy in Phnom Penh, deputy police chief Sok Phal said on Thursday.

Gerald Forbes, 63, of Hawaii, was arrested for sending e-mails to journalists asking them to spread the warning the embassy would be rocketed, then overrun, he said.

"He admitted he did it because he was angry with the slow reception of his pension. In fact there was no group to commit an act of terror," Sok Phal told Reuters without further explanation.

He said Forbes, in the country on a tourist visa, would be deported and never allowed to re-enter Cambodia.

"He has no money for a flight ticket, so we're arranging the ticket for him," Sok Phal said.

A U.S. spokesman said the embassy "never thought it a credible threat", but riot police were sent to guard the embassy on Monday night, when Forbes said the attack would take place.

I get my pension through the bank every two weeks and draw out what I need on my bankcard. What is wrong with the US pension scheme if they don't pay electronically in a similar way? The US veteran scheme is way ahead of what Australians get. The guy must be crazy, for you can't argue with the pension scheme, you will lose every time. They now have the right to fine him through his pension for making a nuisance of himself.

Hot on the heels of Moron Number One, comes Moron Number Two who thought it would be a good idea to go kiddie fiddling in Phnom Penh of all places - a city where there are more NGOs chasing kiddie fiddlers than there are actual kiddie fiddlers. What a moron.

Quote:
American man arrested in Cambodia on child sex charge: police
An American man has been arrested in the Cambodian capital, accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old Vietnamese girl and a local teenager, police said Wednesday.

Thomas Wayne Rapanos, 55, was held on Tuesday night after police raided a room at a guesthouse in Phnom Penh, said Keo Thea, deputy police chief at the anti-trafficking and juvenile unit.

"He brought two young girls into the room to commit debauchery," Keo Thea told AFP, using a wide-ranging term for sex crimes. "When police raided the room, one of the girls was naked."

The 12-year-old Vietnamese girl and the 16-year-old Cambodian told police that the suspect had abused them in the room, said Keo Thea, adding that police had been trying to gather evidence against Rapanos for some time.

Samleang Seila, director of the French child welfare group Action Pour Les Enfants, told AFP that the group had been watching Rapanos since November 2006.

Cambodia has struggled to shed its reputation as a haven for paedophiles, putting dozens of foreigners in jail for child sex crimes or deporting them to face trial in their home countries since 2003.

How did the first guy get caught? I thought the point of the internet was to make inflammatory false statements anonymously.

Another article said this dick was the head of a Hare Krishna affiliated NGO in Cambodia. One NGO busts another.

US Hari Krishna leader accused of pedophilia in Cambodia

Mar 6, 2008, 10:24 GMT

Phnom Penh - The president of a Hari Krishna-affiliated aid organization has been arrested in a guesthouse, allegedly in the company of two young girls in a state of undress, an anti-trafficking police chief said Thursday.

US national Thomas Rapanos Wayne, alias Tattva Darshan Das, whose age was not given, president of the non-government organization Bhaktivedanta Eco Village (BEV) Cambodia, was allegedly arrested in a Phnom Penh guesthouse in the company of two girls aged 12 and 16.

The age of consent in Cambodia is 15.

Phnom Penh Municipal anti-trafficking police chief Eim Rathana said Wayne was arrested Wednesday and investigations were continuing.

'The American has denied the charges, and we must continue to investigate,' Rathana said by telephone.

BEV registered in Cambodia as an aid organization focusing on agricultural assistance, education and child care in 2006.

An anti-trafficking group which said it assisted in arresting Wayne, Action Pour Les Enfants (APLE), said by email Thursday that the alleged victims had been cooperating with the investigation.

Rathana said Wayne had yet to be charged Thursday evening.

The relatively obscure branch of his BEV organization in Cambodia claims to assist 'little children and even university students aspiring to learn,' according to its website.

Cambodian authorities have arrested dozens of foreign pedophiles in recent years, often with the help on non-government organizations such as APLE, in an effort to shake off its reputation as a haven for child molesters.

Here's the website of the NGO they were running to help children.

Well spotted White Coi.

A little detective work has also dug up this.....

Quote:
Establishment Structure of BEV in Cambodia

Trustees or Governing Body Commissioners for BEV in Cambodia was the first requisite. We needed to choose persons of acclaim and ability who would be able to give quality time and resources to the people of Cambodia on a continual and periodical basis. In order to interest the trustees in Cambodia we had to organize several tours and meetings in Cambodia among the proposed members. This entailed a substantial expenditure for establishment fees, on Airfares, accommodation and orientation running into thousands of dollars. The endeavor was a success and the Board of Trustees was formed as was submitted to the Foreign Affairs Ministry and approved. The trustees researched and toured possible sites for purchase of agricultural lands, and office facilities in Seam Reap, Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and Kampot. On an experimental basis we also distributed bread and vegetables in several villages in the Mekong region.

Personnel and staff in action planning
First we must offer our respects and gratitude to our foremost trustee, Her Excellency Jarucha Buor Hel, for leading our NGO into Cambodia and making all our progress possible.

May we give a special mention to His Grace Phok Kimsun our leading trustee, facilitator, and implementer of the BEV in Cambodia. Phok, a native Khmer, trustee of BEV in Cambodia and emissary of His Excellency Buor Hel has been actively monitoring and acted as the liaison officer between the BEV in Cambodia and the Royal Government of Cambodia.

Children at the NGOHis Holiness Bhakti Raghava Swami is a monk & Vaisnava sannyasi in the renounced order of life. He is over seeing International Coordination and implementer of Varnashram Dharma and Eco principles is our well wisher who has offered his valuable and selfless services to the Khmer people through the medium of the NGO Office.

Our esteemed Vice President Heitor Sandreschi works on the ground to oversee Food For Life, Research and Implementation.

Other active members of BEV in Cambodia include, Dave Dobson, our Co-director, Heitor Sandreschi our Vice President, Thomas Wayne Rapanos our President/Director, Dhani Dobson for Cambodian Culture Research, and Anuradaha Rapanos our standing trustee, all whom have dedicated time, energy and resources.

Now I wonder just what attracted the pervert Thomas Wayne Rapanos to be so active with this particular NGO.

Hmmm....here's a photo from their website.

More here...

I remember a guru years ago called Ram Das. but he didn't last. Having a name like Ram Das, made him a joke among the gay community. (Try repeating the name out loud.)

Lightman.
A Yank mate here in Saigon gets his civilian pension paid to the consulate so he has to pick it up there, in person, by US law.
On the other hand, if he had a local wife with access to his bank account or ATM cards, she could get it be he dead or be he alive.
Later tonight I'll have the amounts paid for US veteran's pensions if you want to know for sure. Right now, the lights are out in Georgia.
Coi.
