Me mum is coming to visit me, and part of the trip will be in PP and SR. Ideas fr cheapish 20-25 dollar a room hotels near the riverside, and that don't let blokes back with their new er....."friend"
Or wuil I have to pay more than 20-25 dollars for this? |

You're unlikely to find many places that won't allow a western/khmer couple to stay, and why the hell would you?
If you meant that you want somewhere that won't allow skanky hookers, then anything above the $50 mark should do the trick. _________________ "If cars had developed as fast as PC processors they would go at 470,000 mph, get 100,000 miles to the gallon, and cost 3 cents" |

I was under the impression that the women you think of as "skanky hookers" were allowed access to anywhere in Phnom Penh other than those alien-like weirdo shops with the sign "No Sex Tourism Allowed" written across the top.
Usually, these shops/hotels aren't of the variety that get any visits from the local crowd anyway so the owners think that slapping on a sign of blatant discrimination (this is what it boils down to no matter what they say) will some how excite the freakshow tourists/expats enough to walk in. I'd rank these racist retards one level below the Korean missionaries on the scum of the Earth rankings. . . maybe on par with that kiddie fondling hare hare dude . . .
mow,
Is your mother a nun? Do you think she'll faint when she sees a Khmer girl with a fat ass white guy? What's the story here? She'll be exposed to ALL of Cambodia when she arrives . . . the good, the bad, the ugly, and the smelly. Unless you plan to keep her in her hotel room all day long, just choose a hotel with a good location for sight-seeing and good tuk tuk or taxi service. Star Royal is decent for River Front location and clean. . . I think around 35-40 bucks last I checked. |

Yes, but I'm under the impression that people who spend money on nice hotels also spend it on nice company, not cheap, blatant hookers _________________ "If cars had developed as fast as PC processors they would go at 470,000 mph, get 100,000 miles to the gallon, and cost 3 cents" |

. . . What does a cheap, blatant hooker in Phnom Penh look like?
This?
Like this?

I believe that he was asking a simple question with good reason.
He does not want to put his mother up in a place that from 11pm to 3am all you hear are drunks roaming the halls, doors slamming and women screaming "Yu To Cheap "
Why become so judgemental about his question. ? _________________ Women Should be treated like Fish.

Wasabi, what is your problem?
I've lived in SE Asia for many years. My mum visits occasionally. Yes, I know she will see Cambo in all its glory but I don't want places where it is in my face at 2.00am outside my hotel room.
Please note, I didn't say a hotel with no mixed race couples, but blokes with NEW friends, (ie made in the previous couple of hours), arguing over the price of services, or freelancers hassling me.
I just want a quiet hotel, hassle free, so I can relax after a day of going around Phnom Penh. |

10 Marketing Tips You Can Learn from a Hooker
1. Attract the attention of your target market.
You must do what you can to stand out from the crowd. A short skirt and high heels work to attract a prostitute’s client.
2. Market in the places your audience can be found.
Whether it’s street corners or speciality publications and websites, get in front of your prospects’ eyeballs. Pros don’t attract clients in church pews.
3. Upsell.
After getting a ready and willing customer, expose them to options they might not have considered. Turn a downtown trip into an around-the-world adventure.
4. Have a clever or catchy brand name.
Call girls marketing under Fantasy and Desire usually attract more calls than Fanny and Mabel.
5. Offer a product or service people want or need.
Enough said...
6. Make the transaction easy.
The less forms and red tape the better. A simple in and out procedure works best.
7. Promise quality and good customer service.
The promise may get you a one-time sale but good customer service will have them coming again back.
8. If you want to charge more, offer something they can not get anywhere else.
Just like fruit, the rare and exotic always sell for more.
9. Have a call to action.
Ask for the date. Be persistent.
10. Market happiness.
Every client wants to walk away satisfied. Give them a happy ending.
Bonus Marketing Tip: Sex sells.
Caveat: There is, however, one thing you should avoid in marketing and sales: Screwing your customer. _________________ We, the sons of John Company, have arrived in Cambodia. |

Mowlem
I understand what you are getting at. There is nothing more annoying than being in a place that allows prostitutes to knock on the doors of ALL the rooms asking if you 'want lady'.
If the actual locale is not that important the Boddhi Tree places are always really nice. The food is excellent, the rooms are nicely decored, and it is really clean. The one opposite Toul Sleng is a pain in the arse just because it is in the middle of the Tuk-Tuk and Bus car park other than that it is really pleasant. Be warned though - you have to book in advance as all three places full up very quickly.
I find the riverside to be a pain in the arse to stay and it is much nicer to make a decision to visit there when you want to.
Also, there is Anise which is where ISPP put incoming international teachers which is also nice. On cnr of 57 and 278.

Siem riep-mehkong angkor palace, nice pool, twenty bucks odd, perfect quiet location behind the mehkong bank and five minutes walk to bar street.
phnom penh-billabong for the pool and location or villa langka for the pool, the outlook over the wat and the general ambience.
Both forty dollars upwards.
I would advise anyone to avoid the riverside especially since the fence has been erected. _________________ Love is a warm Tickle. |

Id agree with that, especially for a pair of elderly visitors who will attract a lot of annoying tuk-tuk drivers, beggars etc. _________________ http://phnompenhplaces.blogspot.com/ |

| Paragon Hotel on the riverside is good value for around $25. The rooms are nice and they even have teak deck chairs out on the balcony overlooking the river. If they quote more than $25, haggle. I get rooms there for friends and relatives for $15-$20, but I know the family that owns the place. |
