Battambang: Cafe Flirt Brit Arrested for Abusing Boys
Investigators from the Battambang Provincial Department of Anti-Human Trafficking and the Protection of Minors arrested the proprietor of the Cafe Flirt at 5:30 pm (no date given, but possibly the 28th June) on his premises located in Mpay OsapeaVillage (20th of May Village), Svay Pau Commune, Battambang Town.
The suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of having engaged in sex with males under the age of 15, involvement in the purchasing of child prostitution, and the taking and possessing of obscene photos.
Officials from the Battambang Department of Anti-Human Trafficking stated that they had received a report from the NGO Action Pour Les Enfants (APLE) and launched their own investigation, which culminated in the arrest of the suspect ‘Jonathan Guy’, a 48 year old Englishman residing on the premises of the Cafe Flirt, and the seizure of a quantity of evidence.
In police custody, the suspect identified himself as the proprietor of the Cafe Flirt, which he had been running since taking over the lease about 6 months ago, and admitted to having engaged in sex with boys under the age of 15 years.
An unidentified source reported off the record that the suspect had brought 4 to 5 young boys to the Cafe Flirt for sex, and for each session would pay out just 2,500 to 5,000 Cambodian riels per boy.
His modus operandi would be to scout neighboring shops to see that they were closed up for the night first before calling up his victims to a room at his eatery.
There they would view online porn and shower before they engaged in sex acts, in accordance with his instructions (ហើយ បើករឿងសិច ឲ្យមើលជាមុនតាមអ៊ីនធើណេត និងបញ្ជាឲ្យទៅមុជទឹកឲ្យស្អាត រួចប្រព្រឹត្តឲ្យបៀមលិង្គខ្លួន រហូត ដល់ចេញទឹកកាម ឬរួមភេទតាមរន្ធគូទអាចម៍ជាដើម តាមចិត្តគេ). Boys who begged for a living were also fair game and involved.
The suspect is presently having his case prepared for a court hearing in connection with having committed an indecent act with a child under 15 years of age (អំពើអាស លើកុមារក្រោមអាយុ ១៥ ឆ្នាំ), having engaged in sex with a boy under 15 years of age (រួមភេទជាមួយក្មេងប្រុស មានអាយុក្រោម ១៥ឆ្នាំ), and having sexual molested/groped (ប្រទូស្តកេរ្តិ៍ខ្មាស់), and is to make an appearance in Battambang Provincial Court on the morning of the 30th of June, 2013.

Yes it is with great sadness and some relief that Just Jonnos will cease trading at the end of this month,,,,,4 and a half years of the greatest of memories..

I used to live in Battambang, had a small business there and knew this man and his cafe. It is good that such people end up in the lock up and if guilty gets a severe sentence that will deter others. Cambodia must not be seen as a centre for such activities or a magnet for deviants. The police and the NGOs have another success to justify their existence. BUT the glue sniffing street kids, the vulnerable ones that can be preyed upon, exactly the same ones that have been abused, are still there in the same droves. I would like to think that some sort of initiative or increased effort to help them might come out of this. My optimism level on this is low.

I was just drinking with this guy at his bar back in April.. :O
He seemed like a really nice dude, told me I was pretty good looking but I told him I’m straight and he respected that! We went off to some riverside bar at the bottom of a hotel, local place with cheap beers. He was really nice and talked to me about some shooting that happened at this bar a few days back.
I told him I had to leave as he went off talking to his, presumably, Khmer boyfriend who definitely looks older than 18.. I can tell cos I’m asian too.
I forgot to add that he hated to begging kids around his shop as well.. He would shout at them and shit.
Most of these kids were glue sniffing and high as fuck
