EQUITY WEEKLY TV FOCUSES ON THE BOREI KEILA EVICTIONS @ Meta House
The weekly current affairs broadcast EQUITY WEEKLY is a joint UNDP-National Television Kampuchea Program, that was launched in 2007.
It provides a platform in the media for the discussion of emerging issues.
Tonight’s hot topic deals with the Borei Keila evictions, where more than 300 families lost their homes. Forced evictions are termed ‘land-grabs’ by local human rights organizations such as LICADHO (Cambodian League for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights).
They have become a common occurrence as Cambodia develops. TV journalists expose the dire conditions faced by these families as they try to rebuild their lives. Team members will hold a Q&A.
