In Cambodia’s Kampot province, once a Khmer Rouge stronghold, farmers have rediscovered their most precious product: Pepper.
Nico Mesterharm’s docu PEPPER, PROPERTY, PROSPERITY (2011, 24 mins) follows Cambodia’s first steps towards a market-based economy.
7.30PM: David Brisbin’s entertaining documentary NICE HAT! (2006, 86 mins) is a wildly original, intimate lens on Cambodian culture seen entirely through hats. It portrays Cambodians ranging from renown film director Rithy Panh, to a princess, to a young guide nicknamed James Bond – joined by people of every stripe who make, sell and wear hats.
