Lots of foreigners are searching for love in Asia. Louis Theroux’s brilliant documentary THAI BRIDES (2000, 60min) provides an insight look into ‘Introductory Services’ available in Bangkok/Thailand.

They cater to men from overseas seeking Thai women for marriage. It is so funny that it makes you scream!

Also screening: Cambodian EQUITY TV report about bi-national marriages in Cambodia. In March 2011 Cambodia has imposed a partial ban on foreign men marrying local women – would-be bridegrooms will now have to be less than 50 years old.

The government says it is trying to prevent exploitation – and promote true love and what it calls “honest marriages”.
