One A Day vitamins contain folic acid and copper. An ordinary diet provides an adequate amount of copper for most people. In fact it is not uncommon for people to have unhealthily high copper serum levels.
Folic acid is also a bit controversial and it has many detractors. I read some studies about it years ago and while I cannot recall any of the specifics, I came away with the notion that companies should not fortify foods with folic acid.
Most people probably don't need a multivitamin for optimal health. If you do want to take a supplement, I'd recommend
magnesium glycinate as most people do not consume adequate amounts of magnesium. One A Day vitamins contain "Magnesium oxide," which is a cheaper form of magnesium that vitamin nuts claim is less 'bioavailable' than other forms of magnesium like magnesium glycinate.
