Actually, reading the snippet quotes Bong Burgundy sampled, I would say if you asked Sigmund Freud, Dr. Carl Jung, or Eric Fromm, they would probably say that this man is a classic case of a
Raskolnikov knock-off... Just as the second example of the guy's artwork, posted by Lucky, is a knock-off of Picasso's cubism. Note the lines, "there is no god none, there is a load of humans, most are useless." Besides "Crime and Punishment," this also reminds me of Dostoyevsky's "Brothers Karamazov" (
The grand inquisitor) ....Classical shrinks would name this an "inferiority complex" manifesting extreme contempt and pretended superiority over others... It may be a rude pose. Who knows?
The visual art is typical "graffiti-fusion" pop, and quite striking. I don't think it is unusual for talented people to be, inadvertently, a great burden upon themselves and others... But it also isn't unusual for some people to act insane in order to draw attention to themselves, scare others, or god-knows-what for...!? Either type of person -- the unconsciously mad or the deliberately rancid -- becomes annoying and frightening because ultimately, he or she lacks any self-respecting awareness and control... He is, as someone said, to others -- only a peanut... Or, in latter-day lingo:
a dwarf-manga dweeb, or maybe --
a mutant bonsai dragon...
I suppose all of us know what it is like "to get angry and lose it" once or twice in life; but, for someone to constantly dwell in some other imaginary world of delusions is truly bewildering to other people. Such a person usually comes off as a naff fake, or really crazy, when actually, he might simply be chemically deranged and wasted. Seeing such a person may make you feel impatient or angry. But I think the greater and more interesting debate is about -- how do we discern chemical imbalance from outright intentional rudeness?
We all have our ups and downs that we cannot control at times... However -- when the "madness" becomes a deliberate-seeming
modus operandi, then I would say it calls for a duel... So, you tell him: if he gives me a few free paintings, then I will be more than willing to treat his psychosis completely for free...
