I always thought that the B52s were only bombing viet sanctuaries but they bombed virtually all the fucking country.
What was that all about?
They wernt bombing the KR or were they?
You're catching on, my understanding is that after the Paris Peace Agreements they weren't allowed to bomb anywhere in Laos or Vietnam, yet there were a whole load of planes loaded up and ready to go. Therefore Cambodia was the only place left to drop bombs on, and the machine had to keep moving, or money might be wasted. So the B52s kept busy, and dropped 2.5 million tonnes of bombs on Cambodia. Until quite recently this figure was underestimated at around 500,000 tonnes, but in the last few years some more accurate figures have come to light.
I went to Saigon early this year and went to the War Remnants Museum. Even after sifting through the anti-american propaganda, I was still embarrassed as an American. This is only amplified more when I see what our meddling politicians did to Cambodia. KR or not, 2.5 million tons of bombs is just ridiculous.
According to wikipeida Dresden was leveled with only 3,900 tons
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombing_of ... rld_War_II. Hamburg and thousands of people were destroyed with only 9,000 tons of bombs,

Again, that is a LOT OF BOMBS to drop anywhere, especially here.
