I have asked drivers to come back, but only regular ones I trusted. If I had to take a driver I didn't know and wasn't sure about I used a technique I've actually learned from K440 and that has always served me well: for journeys worth around a dollar, use a bunch of riels and bundle them together with the biggest on top so it looks more than it is, press the money quickly into the driver's hand and walk away. By the time he has counted it I am home and dry. Alternatively, for journeys worth more than a dollar and with not enough riel change, fold the one dollar bills in a way that looks there is 3 or 4 instead of 2. Again, put the money quickly in his hand. Walk away.
